I feel compelled to share my experience, as the level of unprofessionalism and poor service I encountered should not be acceptable in any hospitality setting.
I visited the hotel’s restaurant for lunch, hoping to enjoy a pleasant meal in a refined setting. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. The first dish I ordered had an extremely unpleasant taste – the combination of ingredients and the way it was prepared were poorly matched and simply unappetizing. I called the waiter, Mr. Vlada, and explained the issue. Despite my request to settle the bill immediately, he insisted we find an alternative dish from the menu to improve the situation.
Trusting in the restaurant’s customer service and the waiter’s initiative, I agreed to try a different dish. Sadly, the second meal was equally disappointing in flavor, though this time I chose not to complain and instead requested the check.
To my surprise, both meals were included on the bill – the original one I returned, and the replacement dish that had been suggested to me. What was even more concerning was that the waiter had previously mentioned that many guests often send back that same first dish due to its taste – suggesting that this is a known issue.
I asked to speak with the manager, Mr. Miroslav, who responded with a highly unprofessional and inflexible attitude. He simply stated that it was “house policy” to charge for all meals ordered, regardless of whether one was sent back or replaced at the staff’s suggestion.
This experience left a strong impression of poor food quality, lack of accountability, and a complete disregard for guest satisfaction. For these reasons, I would not recommend this restaurant – neither for the food nor for the service.
Overall, the general understanding of "good service" and "hospitality" seems entirely non-existing.
Where did these people get their hospitality...
Read moreYet another stop on my explore smoke free cafés and eateries in Belgrade. We met a friend at Credo the other day for lunch. Had a great time and enjoyed the hotel restaurant.
⭐️ for the amazing view of Trg Republica and being able to people watch as we visited and ate lunch. ⭐️ for being cigarette smoke free. ⭐️ for a decent lunch of appetizer board and cheese dumplings. The prices were hotel based which meant I paid almost $30 for the appetizer board, dumplings, a Pepsi, and bottle of water. ⭐️ for good service from the waitstaff and a very clean dining area.
I withheld one ⭐️ because while the dining area was cigarette smoke free, vaping was permitted. Our guest brought some French fries she had purchased before we arrived. The waiter informed her that outside food was not permitted and I agree. But I wish he had been as firm with the no smoking policy and asked the patron to stop vaping in the hotel and restaurant.
The menu was also not very deep for lunch. It was fine for breakfast, brunch, and dinner but no real lunch offerings like wraps or small portions.
I will go back and enjoy coffee and watch the world go by because it is at least cigarette smoke free and we can move to a table away...
Read moreJust had dinner at Credo. After a long day of travel it was cozy and inviting place to unwind with surprisingly delicious food. The staff spoke at least Serbian, Russian, and English and were very friendly and welcoming. There were large windows looking out at the city square with people coming and going right beneath a table by the window. The menu was rather small on the amount of selections, but everything was prepared and presented fabulously. Ordered the Serbian Plate and Confit Chicken. Before entrees came out a basket with a variety of warm bread was served and accompanied with whipped butter infused with sweet red peppers. So good. The Serbian Plate was a beef cutlet over flatbread that was covered sweet red pepper spread and all topped with traditional milk cream that was absolutely wonderful. The Confit Chicken was served with deliciously crispy skin with tender meat inside. The peas puree was a perfect accompaniment. The entrees were so good there was no room for dessert, but the tiramisu and cake of the day both looked yummy. Went in with no expectations and was...
