This hostel has potential. The location is great, just in the heart of Madrid, surrounded by restaurants, bars and lots of things to do. The place itself is pristine clean, the others guests were really nice, but here comes the downside: First, check in. In order get to the hostel you have to make two phone calls from the cellphone you used for the booking or enter to a link they provide, one to get into the building and the second one to get into the hostel (which is in the third floor). We didn’t have any roaming so we couldn’t make any calls or use internet, so we ended up waiting for a while till someone enter to the building so they could open the door for us. Once we get to the third floor (which doesn’t have any elevator so it’s not wheelchair accessible), we connected to the wifi and tried to use the link provided to open the door. Unfortunately the system was down and we got stuck and the door for like half an hour till another guest heard us knocking the door. The bathrooms are ok, but there’s just two of them and one shower for the whole hostel. Luckily we weren’t many guests but I can imagine must be hard during peak season where they’re at least 15 people staying. Finally, the “kitchen” is not a kitchen. There’s no sink, counter or kettle. The coffee machine is broken. So you can’t even cook the most basic stuff, like a ramen.

The location is great but no one answered the phone when we arrived, the check in app didn’t work so we buzzed and waited for ages. The rooms are alright, the bathrooms are disgusting with thick layers of dust on everything. The walls are so thin you can hear everything. We spent our last morning unable to sleep past 6am because some lunatic next door was screaming and yelling and slapping. No staff did anything to stop this and it felt unsafe to leave our room so we packed everything and bolted to the exit because we were worried of being attacked.

Only good thing about the room is the location. Maybe we were unlucky, but our room, as clean as it was, had a giant hole in it connecting directly to the room next door. For the location, the price is ok, but i have never seen a hole in the wall hidden with 2 towels in my whole life. The fan in the ceiling was however much appreciated in the absence of AC
