Metro City Hotel — Hotel in Colombo

My stay at the Metro City Hotel was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. From the moment I arrived on June 5, 2025, the customer service was appalling, culminating in a deeply disturbing encounter with the staff and even the owners.||||Upon arrival, my confirmed room was not ready, which was the first red flag. What followed was a shocking display of unprofessionalism and hostility from the reception team. They spoke to me in an incredibly disrespectful manner.||||The situation escalated dramatically during a phone conversation with one of their staff members. I was verbally abused, with the individual using an F-word and explicitly telling me to "get out of the hotel." This kind of language is absolutely unacceptable and created an extremely hostile environment.||||Even more shockingly, the owners of the hotel were also involved in this appalling treatment. Their customer service was non-existent; instead, they contributed to the aggressive and disrespectful atmosphere. It's clear that the poor attitude and lack of professionalism permeate from the top down.||||Due to this completely unacceptable behavior and the hostile environment, I was unable to check in or stay at the hotel. I had no choice but to involve the local police to resolve the situation, who then instructed the hotel to refund my money through my booking platform, WEGO.||||I strongly advise anyone considering staying at the Metro City Hotel to look elsewhere. The disrespectful staff, aggressive communication, and utterly appalling customer service, including from the owners, make this a place to avoid at all costs. This was by far my worst experience in terms of hotel stays. The pictures on the booking portals are very misleading. The rooms were spruced up for the benefit of promotions but in reality, they are severely lacking in every way. The room assigned to us was not clean. The sheets were torn and dirty. The bathroom had constant leaks. There was no duvet given. When asked for a blanket, they gave an extra bedsheet to cover ourselves. Not at all comfortable. But the worst part was the next morning when it started raining very heavily. We woke up to our entire room filled with water. The rain water came in through closed windows. Our luggage was soaked. They changed our room finally. The pictures showed a dining area with chairs and tables. There is no such facility in the building. They brought us breakfast from outside. The location was the only plus point. Other than that, it felt like nothing more than a seedy, shady motel. Would not recommend this...

we did not know anything about this hotel before we go there .never read any comment about this hotel but it was a 7 pm and just show the sign of metro city Hotel, we decided to stay over for night instead of going to Negombo. man was in the reception was horrible, questioned us , you want a room with window or without., we are happy to have a room with window. after the payment he took us to the room. but it was a more than a night mare.linen was dirty and smell was sooooo bad. tap water was yellow color we didn't had shower until we moved to other hotel.but most worse part was Room and the Bathroom smell Urine, that kept us awake whole night long. we were the only Guest and it was really scary to stay. please don't go there. this is not a Right place to stay with such a horrible experience and take a few more minutes search for another venue for...
