Asian Hotel — Restaurant in Colombo

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant in the Asian Hotel Colombo, and it was truly a delightful experience. The menu offers an impressive variety of authentic Asian dishes, each crafted with fresh ingredients and vibrant flavors.The presentation of the dishes was impeccable, and the flavors exceeded my expectations. I particularly enjoyed the “chicken kotthu”which was a perfect blend of spices and textures. The portions were generous, and the pricing was very reasonable for the quality offered.

The staff was also incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations and ensuring that every part of the meal was perfect. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it a great place for both casual meals and special occasions.

Overall, the dining experience was fantastic. If you're in Colombo and looking for an exceptional meal, the restaurant at Asian Hotel should definitely be on your list. I can't wait to return and try more...

Disappointing Experience

I recently ordered food from Uber Eats, but the experience was far from satisfactory. The Dolphins Kottu I received was not only unappetizing but also seemed to be made from reheated, potentially spoiled ingredients. To my surprise, the kottu didn't even contain chicken as ordered.

It's concerning that the restaurant might have used old rotti, fried it, and served it as a fresh meal. This lack of attention to quality and customer satisfaction is disappointing. As a customer, I expect better.

I would appreciate a full refund for this order, considering the poor quality of food and the time wasted waiting for it. Hopefully, Uber Eats will take necessary steps to improve the standards of their partner restaurants. Recommendation: Uber Eats should look into quality control measures to ensure partner restaurants maintain high standards. I rarely write reviews, I ordered from Asian Hotel through Uber Eats, and honestly, this experience with Asian Hotel was disappointing enough to do so. We specifically ordered the Egg Crispy Dolphin, but what we received was completely different, it turned out to be Chicken Crispy Dolphin. That’s already frustrating when you’re craving something specific.

But what made it worse was the taste. It didn’t even feel like proper crispiness or a dolphin kottu, it was super dry, chewy, and weirdly felt like eating over roasted parata pieces that had been left out too long. Absolutely no flavor, no seasoning… just a complete miss.

We tried to give it a chance, but it was honestly so bad we ended up throwing it away. That’s not something I ever like to do with food, but it was just not edible.

Really disappointed with both the food quality and how they handled the order. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all.. definitely not ordering...
