Perfect Location for Backpackers and Nature Lovers
This hotel is in an ideal location for travelers with backpacks. It’s practically part of Grindelwald Station—just cross the zebra crossing in front of the train station and you’re there.
Noise isn’t an issue at all—this is the final stop for the tram (yes, it’s a tram, not a train). At night, it’s completely silent. We slept peacefully without a single disturbance.
The staff were friendly and approachable. Breakfast was fantastic—my kid loved it! Just ask for coffee or tea, and they’ll happily provide hot chocolate for children.
The hotel is very close to both the cable car station and the paragliding office. They also offer a free bus pass, which I used like a hop-on, hop-off tour bus around town. Even better, you can show this pass when purchasing gondola tickets to get about 14% off. (Note: the kiosk doesn’t apply the discount.)
The room was spotless and cozy—truly felt like home.
If I have the chance, I’ll definitely return with my family. And after your paragliding adventure, don’t forget to visit the adorable alpacas near the landing zone!
If you’re traveling without a car or tour guide, this hotel is the perfect base.
One last tip: I lost my backpack, but the SBB Lost Property Service made it easy to file a report—everything here works smoothly. Finally, I found it at Interlaken Ost.
And don’t forget—request a mountain-view room when booking. It’s absolutely worth it!
But it’s a bit expensive! Some staff members didn’t seem to be doing their jobs properly, especially considering the high price of the...
Read moreIt's unbeatable convenient because you can walk to your room in 3 minutes right after getting off from the train. The price is good too.
However I didn't have a good experience here. Warning: The service is okay but not responsive when you run into noise issue. Also There's no AC so you need to close your Windows even it's hot indoor. Don't stay here if you are sensitive to noise.
Several weeks ago, I made my reservation and noted I'm visiting Switzerland to celebrate my birthday and hope to get a room on the south side if possible. I didn't expect it to be accommodate for 100% so I didn't complain after I still got the room facing north. I was waken up at 7:30am due to at least 3 types of loud construction noise at the train station with the windows all closed. I called the front desk, the staff said rooms are full and they can do nothing, no complementary no exchange or refund just nothing. He asked me to come back at 11am to talk with the manager but no guarantee on anything. I have plans to take the steam train in Brienz so I just called them in the afternoon. No one picked it up. Then I sent email to them, but never got a response. This was super disappointing and time wasting. In the previous hotel I stayed, they had a notice in elevator apologizing for the constructions nearby, but at here, no notice, no apology, no any reaction to guest's complain.
I decided to leave earlier the 2nd day so that the noise won't bother me and influence my good mood towards the amazing views...
Read moreThis is my first time leaving a negative review. I spent over 700 swiss franc to stay at this hotel for 2 nights. I traveled all the way to Switzerland with the expectation of booking a room with a private balcony, drawn in by the picturesque online images of dreamy hillscapes. To my dismay, upon arrival, I was given a ground-level balcony with a large tree obstructing the view, and a neighboring low building blocking most of the scenery. To make matters worse, the balcony was shared by three units!!! When I confronted the reception about this, their response was that this was the only option available, and I could switch to a room without a balcony if I didn't want it. I insisted that at the time of booking, the room was advertised as having a private balcony, not the shared one I was given. I would not have booked it had I known it was a shared balcony, and this was not clearly stated in your description. I feel deceived. In the end, they refused to accommodate my request, claiming that all other rooms were fully booked. This experience has truly soured my otherwise enjoyable trip to Switzerland. Very disappointed...
