MaHar Hostel ChiangMai — Hotel in Chiang Mai Province

Mahar Hostel was a fun hostel to stay in for three nights. It is located near the end of a side street so you don't get all the noise from the main road, but it is easily accessible to 7-11, restaurants, cafes, food stalls, night markets, and can catch songthaews from the main road (about 3 min walk). You can also rent a scooter directly from the hostel to get around. The staff are amazing and super friendly. They will carry your giant bags up to your room, which was very much appreciated, and give recommendations on things to do in the area. I wouldn't consider this place to be a party hostel, but it is a social hostel. Every evening, people gathered and hung out in the lobby or outside at the tables. And, there was always awesome music being played quietly in the lobby, which couldn't be heard in the dorms. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff was great. The staff and manager here are so friendly. It's a relaxed kind of vibe. certainly not a party place but also it's easy going too. It also has other hostels next door so it's easy to connect with people there too if you want . Everyone has been so friendly. I've stayed here before and returned twice now. They also let me keep my luggage there whilst i went for 5 days camping in the mountains. Lotus and 7eleven and pharmacys 4 or 5 minutes walk away without having to cross roads. Also pharmacys. Also many food stalls at night around those shops. It's a great place to have a jam with the guitar or singing too. The reverb in the lobby is the best 👌 Free coffee in the morning. and water throughout the day. Fridge also. It's a calm enough place for the digital nomad to do some work at the table too without distraction. A fairly simple hostel. Calm and quiet generally. Youll get a good nights sleep here. Nice...

I’ve stayed in many hostels in Chiang Mai, and I can say this is one of my favourites by a HUGE margin. Its in a good location in the city, and makes for a very comfortable stay with aircon and cooling soft beds.
