Photos for this guesthouse are very misleading - the suites all cost the same but are very different styled rooms of totally different levels of comfort and you don’t get to choose. For our honeymoon, we were put in a room with two twin beds pushed together (we know this is often a practice abroad but the other suites at the guesthouse - which we booked - had full sized beds!) a mosquito net filled with holes, dark painted walls with no natural light, cobwebs in the bathroom & no soap (none in the hotel actually, we had to go buy our own to wash our hands). The room was extremely dark at all times and definitely couldn’t be labeled a “suite” as it was just a room. After a totally sleepless night on the very uncomfortable twin beds the staff kindly offered us another room for the night. Upon entering yet another room void of any light they told us “but it’s by the road so it will be loud”. We asked the previous guests who were checking out how they slept and they raised their eyebrows with a “um...it’s firm!” At this point we decided to cut our losses and move to another hotel (a decision we are SO thankful for!)
Outside of the room, what you can’t tell about the photos is that the pool is literally inches from the check in desk and the road, so don’t expect any calm or serenity relaxing by the pool.
Unfortunately, Seven Senses doesn’t allow cancelation/refunds and quite frankly is fairly expensive in relation to what’s available in Chiang Mai. We lost about $400 for the next six nights we forfeited. That being said, we are now in a luxurious, clean, bright penthouse room at Gategaa Village (it’s so lovely!) for just a few extra dollars per night and absolutely...
Read moreActually it was a home converted to a hotel. We are asked to remove our footwear at the entrance and walk to the rooms and everywhere. The room which we got was not at all OK.. The lighting is too dim and the floors are creaking if we walk it makes huge noise as if the wood will break anytime.. There are flying cockroaches and you will see lot of lizards on the wall in the hall and kitchen area.
And get ready to be bitten by mosquitoes a lot. As in pictures it's not like that... The pool is just at the reception a small one.. Which is not at all great and sheets are not much clean.. The tv channels are so bad.. In local language nothing to watch when you get bored.. The main drawback is the lighting.. It's so dim we have to double check. The annoying part is when walking the floor creaking noise it makes.
At reception Mr Rj he's very helpful to guide you where to visit and how to go etc. He's was a very nice person.
But if you really like to stay in a local life you might like it. But for me no I couldn't bear the mosquitoes and the cockroaches flying around and especially lizards.
The place is walkable to many other food joints places..
Stayed in month...
