Just stayed here for a total of 12 nights paying extra for an upgrade to a pool villa. We wouldnt recommend this resort at all ! Firstly let me say that the staff at the door as well as some of the restaurant staff were wonderful ,greeting us with welcome smiles every day . Wanting a smaller boutique Resort in the Kata /Karon district and our own pool this narrowed our choices . We decided based on their website and photos as well as reviews that this would be a good choice for us . I emailed the hotel before our arrival telling them we were to be celebrating our anniversary whilst staying there ,this went totally unanswered . Upon arrival I mentioned the unanswered email , we got a verbal Happy Anniversary this was it . Let me say at this point was the only time anyone made any mention of the very considerable building works going on around the hotel. The girl told us she put us in a villa as far from the noise as possible. ( if this was as far away we would hate to see how bad the noise was in the ones right near the works ) We were taken to our villa and were pretty underwhelmed by it . The pool area itself was pretty uninviting with the entire top row of pool tiles missing .The villa itself was of a good size but to find that not even the air-conditioning had been left on in preparation for our arrival was not a good impression . There was a constant sewerage smell in the whole bathroom and dressing room area , which was very unpleasant .Upon arrival there was a small bowl of fruit and a small vase of flowers but this is what I saw was done for each new guest arrival. After staying prior at 2 other resorts and this being our last stop this was all rather disappointing . All the other resorts we stayed at went above and beyond to welcome us with beautiful decorations for our wedding anniversary and a big bouquet of flowers even champagne at one. This however turned out to be the least of our worries . We unpacked and decided to go have lunch by the pool and try to decompress . I ordered a chicken burger and drink . It had to be the one of the worst Ive ever had. The amount of problems we incurred at this resort as the days went by unfortunately increased and by far outweighed the positives. The noise from the construction was ridiculously loud and before management respond that these works are necessary and it was still your low season ,We are very much aware of this however we feel its dishonest to not inform your guests of this particularly when a guest has booked to stay for such a long length of time and these works are your building works not something that is out of your control . We felt we would have been better located in your pool access villas which still would have had much disturbing noise but they were located further away . Instead you took our extra money for a pool villa with out mention of any noise placing us very close to the constant barrage and vibration of the large crane hammering incessantly . Every morning we were woken at 8 am not by the construction insanely enough but by the gardeners and cleaners sweeping over and over yelling and having group conversations right outside our bedroom window . We were woken at 2.30 AM , yes i wrote 2.30 AM ! Again hearing the sounds of sweeping and scrubbing yet again! Believing it was another 8 AM wake up I checked our clock to see that it was 2.30 AM .I looked out the window to see a cleaning man with a torch on his head scrubbing the outside pathway of the villa directly adjacent to our villa and bedroom window . We went to the reception the following morning to complain about this and the noise of the place in general and were asked did he have the gernie ? and sorry about it like it was something that occurs quite regularly . Breakfast was woeful to say the least they cater more for the Chinese guests with a limited array of stale offerings for Westerners. Overall lasting impression this hotel /Resort has stingy management who cut way too...

It’s definitely not a 4 or 5 star hotel as advertised. I would give the hotel a 3 hotel. There are two sections of the hotel, the elite (newer side) and the villas (older side of the hotel). We were given a very spacious room on the second floor located on the villa side. Other than the size of the room, everything else was just average or below average. Here are a few things that I didn’t like about the hotel: -They took us to our room and the first thing we noticed was the room was super hot and humid. So basically the AC is never on unless someone is staying in the room, it felt like 100 degrees in there. We blasted the AC for an hour until the room was okay to stay in. -You could tell the room was not well taken care off and it could just be the age of the hotel room. Dust and dirt were everywhere in the corners, along the walls, on the bed frame, on the coffee table. It wasn’t well taken care off. The wood behind the sink and on the water spray next to the tub was super molded. -The towels were very old and had a lot of yellow stains -There were a lot of mosquitoes in our room, especially since our door was improperly installed onto the door wall frame. It was a large enough opening for mosquitoes to come through. I fought the mosquitoes every night and it made our stay unwelcoming. We called the front office, explained the issue to the workers and we were told that they would look into it. They never called back or tried helping us, just left us on our own. Basically they saying to us “just deal with it, it’s your problem now” -The breakfast was average, not a 5 star hotel breakfast. -Laundry is expensive, get your laundry wash outside of the hotel. It’s much cheaper. -Don’t eat dinner at the hotel, instead go to the restaurants outside the hotel. It’s cheaper and tastes better. -They don’t offer free rides after 7 pm from and to the hotels. The walk to the hotel is about 10 minutes. If you’re going out late to eat to visit the night market, expect to long walk back to the hotel. -Maybe just us but our doorlock was broken the day we had to check out. They had to get someone to replace the electronic door lock. They were nice and give us extra time to check out.

Positive: -A few of the staff members were awesome and willing to do what they can. Have to thank the cleaning lady, she was the only one trying to us. -The pool on our side of the villa was clean and not...

We emailed Metadee for a reservation as we were missing out on a deal that started in April. We were offered a great pool access room at a reasonable price. The rooms are enormous!!! Biggest bed in a hotel I have had anywhere in the world & the bathroom is the size of most hotel rooms. Space for both our suitcases, hanging room, his/her sinks, make up application space with seat, no bath but large shower with 2 heads & large shelf to sit on. Mini kitchen top space with coffee machine, my only gripe would be no wine bottle opener when most hotels have them these days, great wine glasses, large lounge to rest on. We had the pool access with seats out side but they need cushions, very uncomfortable. Huge TV. Amazing rooms! It is like a 1k or more walk to the hotel from the Kata strip. They have golf buggies running all day & transfer vans to shops. We chose to walk most of the time to get steps in & walk off the food & wine. Breakfast was ok no as good as 2 other hotels we had in Bangkok this trip. Gym was AMAZING! Had 20+ pieces of equipment plus cardio machines etc was staffed all day. Very kid friendly, if you are looking for a family holiday hotel in Kata this is your place. I found it annoying at times but if you have kids a great choice. Ordered room service one night at 10pm half hour later I call reception & they put me through to the kitchen. I asked if our food had been started because we were going to fall Asleep. They hung up on me. I did this 2 more times after before having to put on my robe & go to reception & try to cancel food as it had been over an hour. They come out with the food so I follow them back to our room. We have 2 dishes we did not order & sorting rolls, burger & fries were stone cold. I call again. They come back & take the 2 dishes that we didn’t order but leave the other cold food. 15 mins later they return with those 2 dishes again hot. I try to explain again that I don’t order them. In the end we are a salad & that was it. The account for the food was $150 Aussie. On checkout I explain I won’t pay for food I don’t order. The manager came put. He was lovely, it still took a long time for him to understand. In the end I didn’t pay for the 2 dishes we didn’t order just a cold burger & salad. I wouldn’t order room service. We should have walked down for a kebab lol. In saying that great place...

It was a very astounding hotel with a big pool that interconnects almost all thr blocks. Our room came with breakfast, the food and drinks selections were sufficient. 10% of the breakfast menu changes daily. There is also a live soup noodle and omelette station! Travelling to different areas of Phuket is a little hard, as it is quite deep from the main street, so you will always need to hail a taxi, call a tuktuk or Grab a car. Price if my GrabCar is about SGD11 for a 15mins ride, and SGD19 for a 35mins ride. Location is Good, because it is quiet from the busy street. Not so good, because you always need a transportation out. The hotel provide a buggy to send you at to main street, so that is very good. You can also use their phone to call for buggy to pick you, from where they dropped you, when you return too. It's about 10-15mins walk to Kata beach, and al9ng the way you will see some nice restaurants bars, minimarts, also shops for beach wears. Kata beach is also very nice, and not too crowded. If you bring a child, there's a small outdoor playground near the beach in the Community Park. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping could be better. Some parts of the room were not cleaned, like the sink area, and the cups used were not washed. Not sure if it's because they are understaffed. The pool is 1.2-1.3m deep. There is a small section for kids, and there are floating mats, standup paddel boats and fancy kids float that are free-to-use. If you want, you can also pay for a snockelling machine and flippers. But the water is very cold all day long, and the hotel area is quite windy with hardly any sun between blocks. There are plenty of sunbeds. The kids room always have YouTube on, and the toys are always packed neatly. The room is generally empty, but is just enough to entertain your kids for half an hour or so. There's also a staff there to briefly engage your child when they are there. My husband enjoyed the gym pretty much, since it is not always crowded and well-equipped. Last but not least, there's a restaurant with AMAZING view of the hotel, but unfrequented. The items can be a little pricey, but it could be affordable to some for the peace and view. It is the Moon Terrace Fine Dining restaurant. All in all, it was great staying there with a child.

We stayed in the Metadee for 6 nights as part of our 10 day trip to Phuket, specifically in a One-Bedroom villa with Pool Access. The villa is true to the name, sharing no walls with other rooms, which assists with soundproofing. However, sound proofing from the sliding windows, which makes up the wall facing the pool lagoon, is lacking if neighbours are loud on their terraces. Bedroom is well sized and quality of furniture and fittings is acceptable for the price point. Bathroom is large and spacious, with twin sinks, rain shower with built-in bench and freestanding bathtub. However, the separated toilet has a random portal opening to the shower cubicle which is an incredibly odd design choice likely influenced by the extract system. Pool lagoon is very pleasant with a variety of water features and separated sunbathing areas for those in rooms which don't have an adjoining terrace. The water was a good temperature, not overchilled as we had found with other locations. Landscaping is good, although more exterior lighting around the pool area would really enhance the greenery in the evening. We booked breakfast as part of our stay and found it to be satisfactory with a variety of options and a cooking station for eggs. Hotel bar is next to the main pool area, although not submerged within. Prices are acceptable for a 5* hotel, the staff are jovial and a decent grasp of English. Housekeeping did miss us one day even though we had both the light and door handle tag on, however this was resolved by a visit to the reception on our way out later in the day. The room has an auto shut-off for the AC when exterior leading doors are opened and although we applaud the effort at sustainability, it was finicky and if frequently going out to the terrace, we found that sometimes it wouldn't switch back on and required you to power cycle the AC from the control panel to get it going again. Property location is very good, having no ambient sound from outside the grounds overnight and close enough to access the bulk of the Kata area. All things considered, it was terrific value for money and strongly recommend it as a good mid-price option.
