VERANDA — Restaurant in Karon

I have been recommended to visit this place by a friend who has spent two winters at kata beach.

Upon arrival we were seated right away.

There were a sheet of paper on a table with crayons for your entertainment (it was probably for kids, but as an adult I also had fun lol).

Anyway, we ordered vegetable salad, aspic (kholodets), manty, Kiev kotlet, and an other type of meat kotlet that I forgot a name of.

Veranda place indeed were able to deliver the best taste of Russia 🇷🇺!

We enjoyed every single item we ordered.

The only setback was that servers seemed not to know what table food had to be delivered to and constantly tried to drop our dishes to an other table. Like , don’t you have table numbers? I would understand if they messed up one dish, but all ? Haha.

At the end of the meal I asked a waitress to bring back a menu because I was going to have a desert, she brought a menu and never came back to check on us. We ended up asking for a check and leaving.

Overall the experience was satisfying, and we will go back. To try the desert lol

When we came to this restaurant, we could not even choose a table for ourselves: the waiters told us that we need to sit “there”, on a smaller table, while we preferred to have the comfortable table with the sofas, and the reason was, “it was a table for four people”. Plus, the staff were speaking to us in a very rudely manner, which was not acceptable, telling us, “now YOU listen to me”. The table with nice sofas that we had chosen was not even booked for anyone else, it was just “reserved” in case a bigger company comes. As a customer, we need to be able to choose the table. Plus, the manager from Kazakhstan came to solve this issue, and we thought that he was going to fix the issue but instead he made it worse by telling us “you can leave the restaurant now”. Him and the water named Dee were extremely rude to us, so we did not want to stay any longer. And we had another five people to come in and join us later on, but they would not even compromise and listen. Imagine how much business you could lose towards the end of the day when you have this kind of bad attitude and...

The entire experience was horrible. The place is packed with kids as they have their own play area and is a lot of screaming and noise and it felt like eating in a train station. Concerning the food, maybe the good reviews are based on the russian food which is half of the menu, because the thai food was terrible and not spicy, rather sweet. It was the worst place i have eaten in the entire Thailand and the only place i had stomach issues after. Also the staff was chaotic and there was constantly movement all around, you could not hear the person next to you. They were talking to me in russian even though I was not russian..
