Unfortunately the start of my Thailand trip started here. The bathroom has one tiny hanger, impossible to dry the bath towels, it always smelled of bad water and became stinky after one use. This is not normal.. Secondly, we got a couples massage from an “external company” they advertised on a flyer in our room. The two women did not bring their own massage beds, but made us lay in our bed and they got on there with us barefoot? Pretty disgusting, we sleep there. The mattresses were soft, so getting a massage on them was not comfortable. They used bad smelling soft blankets, 100% not washed since a few clients. Normally they would bring massage beds up into the hotel room, that is our experience everywhere else. And they were talking in thai and laughing through the 45 minute (advertised as an hour) massage, absolutely ruining the relaxation experience even further. One pulled a muscle in my boyfriend’s shoulder and we had to get another massage the same day from another place to correct it. We couldn’t even get a refund as “we complained too late” aka not right after the massage.. I also accidentally left a small (palm size) and very light in colour period stain. They charged us 5500 bhat, even though it was only the sheets on the very sides and a little fingernail sized (and totally cleanable, barely any colour) on the mattress cover. 150€ for bedsheets is crazy, even if not washable and they have to throw it out and buy new. They also only let us known when checking out.. so why haven’t they tell us anything in timely manner? Had this happen a few years ago in Germany, and they did not charge me at all, saying it is a natural accident and I did not cause damages intentionally. Oh, and there is construction site right next to the hotel. Impossible to sleep next to it. No view, as it will be another same height building. The street is very smelly. The wifi caused problems too. Anytime I was on it, my macbook would overheat and drain the battery 10x faster than usual. My boyfriends laptop was comstantly freezing and at one point gave up. On mobile devices, we got logged out from every app (hasn’t happened on thai mobile data..) and some apps said the password has changed and to change now. Problem also went away when switched back to the thai simcards data, so it had to be the wifi. Overall strange and unpleasant experience. Too bad, since the male staff was very polite, but the woman handling our check out with our complaints was mean and unhelpful, not following general rules of hospitality. Do...
Read moreWe stayed at the hotel for three nights. The reception staff was very friendly, and the hotel's location was good, quiet, and close to the train station. The reception staff were respectful and friendly, and the luggage attendant was very respectful and kind. Our room was clean and decorated because we were on our honeymoon. On the first night, we had our meal and went up to the pool level for dinner. The bar and pool attendant greeted us very warmly and respectfully. On the second night, we had our dinner again and went up to the pool level to eat our meal quietly in a beautiful atmosphere near the pool because the restaurants in nana area is always crowded in the evening. When I started eating, I was surprised when the bar and pool attendant spoke to me in a harsh tone and held a sign saying that bringing food and drinks are prohibited! Her accent was unacceptable, and she didn't speak English at all. I was surprised that a well-organized and clean hotel with foreign guests had staff who didn't speak English. Nevertheless, I opened a translation app and spoke to her in Thai, telling her we had been there the previous day with our food .. and asking why she hadn't told me ? She didn't respond to anything I said, so I remained silent, took my food, and went down to my room. I consider this behavior unprofessional and impolite. At the very least, she should have waited for me to finish my meal and then told me politely, I would have accepted it gracefully. Or she could have told me before I started eating. That would have been a nice gesture in front of me and my wife, but I didn't say anything. I gathered my food and went downstairs, afraid of ruining my honeymoon evening...
Read moreA nice little compact hotel, with an interesting view of the cityscape from the pool area. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but relatively small.
When we visited (February 2022) the hotel was not offering the buffet breakfast as had been advertised when we booked on Trip.com. It was a choice of 6 dishes. The Western breakfasts all included tasteless warm (?) ham, and bland chicken sausages. The Thai options were quite nice, but perhaps not worth the advertised 250 baht, as compared to cheaper local options. The service was also not very quick - we arrived each day at 8.30am when the breakfast opened, but weren't served out food until around 9 - the breakfast didn't start early enough, and everybody arriving at the same time meant that the service was difficult for the single member of staff taking all fo the orders and making all of the drinks.
The soi is quiet during the day, but be warned that there are 'beer bars' in a small complex at the end of the street in the evenings. 'Beer bar' in Thailabd is code for a bar which is filled by women who are paid by the bar to procure drinks at inflated prices for themselves, or even to leave with customers for a fee. Luckily, I was with my baby, so didn't receive much unwarranted attention when returning to the hotel in...
