Hostel@8 — Hotel in Khlong Toei Subdistrict

There is a reason this hostel is not on hostelworld , the staff are gentle and polite but useless , no english or customer service skills which leads to problems as most stuff is broken here and complaints ignored - for example their is no water in the sinks as all the sensors are broken , the lockboxes dont work and many of the lockers are broken , there are 23 cameras on all 5 floors including one in each dorm ! In the dorm ! and they are on because their is a red light flashing (see photo) many people book tru the hotel and expect a private room or a group only room ; 3 times i was forced to be a solo traveller with a group as i was here 4 days , first a loud indian group then 11 thai boys in a 8 bed dorm ( they shared beds) and lastly a vietnamese family , all were surprised to see me in a dorm they thought was only theirs , very uncomfortable experience and the one night i was moved to a non group dorm with other solo travellers a fat 500 pound indian guy came in at 2 am and decided to get undressed completely and sleep in other peoples beds , mass checkout next morning and like a fool i stayed , many people checked out early and were denied refunds , and exposed live wiring because the reading lamps are broken which is very unsafe , the reception staff kept smiling and nodding and i believed things would improve , even when they promised only one girl would be in the room on my last night a whole asian family turned up and were shocked to see me , ac was ok but it stopped working on my morning checkout , honestly its falling apart and no decent management to fix it , only kids at reception who smile and look at their phones all shift and also female dorm is full of streetwalkers who pay by month as its close to nana the red light area - female tourists usually wont share with them or are put in mixed dorms , its a joke dont book...

Me and my brother stayed here for 5 days in the dorm. Aircon was superb , beds spacious enough , good and safe spacious lockers. The dorm is very spacious and the toilettes were clean and with strong hot and cold water||Only problem we noticed is that many indians or pakistanis know this hostel and stay here. I am sorry to say but really they have a terrible smell. My brother asked to move to another room and they allowed him as we explained the unpleasant smell situation||Wifi works well in all floors and during our time of stay the customers staying were not noisy||Location is great and very accessible to the bts and Sukhumvit road with many restaurants and cafes nearby||Price is very reasonable too! This place was way quieter than other hostels I have been to in Bangkok, which I enjoyed because I was recovering from surgery here. ||||The staff was super friendly and was always able to answer and answer my questions (in english) easily.||||7-11 is next door for water and snacks. ||||There weren't any trash cans in the room, so you have to throw your trash away outside. I also wish there would've been a hook on the door or wall of the shower to hang my towel. There is a shelf available, but it was very high up and...
