I recently stayed at lyf Sukhumvit 8 Bangkok, and it was an amazing experience! The hotel is conveniently located near Nana Station — just take Exit 4, and you’ll find it right away. The location makes it incredibly easy to get around the city, whether you want to explore popular tourist spots or just wander around the neighborhood.
One of the best things about this hotel is its location. It’s surrounded by lots of bars, clubs, pubs, and massage shops, so there’s always something to do nearby. There’s also a 7-Eleven right across the street, which is super convenient if you need to grab a quick snack, drink, or any essentials. Additionally, there are plenty of small local restaurants nearby that serve delicious food at reasonable prices — I found the flavors to be very well-suited to my taste!
The hotel itself is modern, stylish, and very well-maintained. It feels fresh and clean as soon as you step inside. The overall atmosphere is cool and inviting, and there’s a pleasant fragrance throughout the building. The staff were one of the highlights of my stay — they were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to assist with a smile. Their attention to detail and willingness to help made my stay much more enjoyable.
The facilities were well thought out. Each floor has a hot and cold water dispenser, which is very convenient for staying hydrated without having to buy bottled water. Housekeeping is done every two days, which keeps the room clean and tidy. If you need extra cleaning, you can request it for a small additional fee. The Wi-Fi was excellent — strong and fast both in the lobby and in the room, which made it easy to stay connected and stream content without any issues.
The room size was perfect for one or two people — not too big, but definitely not cramped. The space was clean, bright, and comfortable, with a minimalist but cozy design. However, the room didn’t have a fridge or a TV, which might be a downside for some, but it wasn’t a big deal for me since I spent most of my time exploring the city. The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which made it easy to relax after a long day of sightseeing.
Security at the hotel is very impressive. The elevator requires a room key card to operate, which ensures that only guests can access the rooms. Additionally, after 10:00 PM, the main entrance to the hotel is locked, and you’ll need a room key card to enter — this made me feel very safe and secure throughout my stay.
Because it’s close to several bars and nightlife spots, it can get a little noisy at night. However, the noise level wasn’t too disruptive for me, and I was still able to sleep comfortably. If you’re a light sleeper, bringing earplugs might help. Despite this minor issue, the convenience of the location and the quality of the hotel easily make up for it.
Overall, lyf Sukhumvit 8 Bangkok is a fantastic option for solo travelers and couples looking for a stylish and well-located place to stay in Bangkok. The combination of modern design, friendly staff, strong security, and excellent location makes it a great value for the price. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Bangkok and would highly recommend it to anyone...
Read moreGreat location, I would say about a 2 min walk to the BTS skytrain / Nana station. Also lots of delicious street food vendors close by.
The amenities and communal kitchen were sufficient for us. We did use the laundry facilities which was quite convenient.
The room is small though; it reminds me of a Japanese business hotel. If you have mobility issues, it may be difficult for you because this bed is on a platform and to get to the bed, you must climb up the platform; it isn't easy especially because there are no railings to grab onto and both the floor and the platform is a smooth slippery surface. It is about a 1 ft drop so you could easily lose your footing, especially at night.
There was a master switch that turned off all the electricity in the room; there were no notes to explain this and one night my husband turned the switch off by accident while going to the washroom and we ended up turning off the AC which was miserable :/ But user error though. Wish they would have made a note or something about it.
Two things I have to complain about is that 1) there was a "pocket door" that had lead to the outside to the air conditioning units outside that kept opening (this was next to the window). There was something wrong with the locking mechanism and it wasn't locked. I had to use my travel bag to keep it closed by always having it lean on it. Regardless, every time we went out and had come back, the door was always found open (because my bag would shift, or the housekeeper came in to fix the sheets and she moved my bag). It was kind of dangerous because technically I could have walked out there and fallen several storeys to the ground below. So it was a little inconvenient to always have to have something leaning on it. And 2) we had a lot of little bugs walking around on our floors. They were especially noticeable on the washroom floor (because it was a light coloured floor) but we also noticed it in the main area as well. Maybe this was because we had that pocket door that kept opening or they were coming out of the drain, I'm not sure. But we didn't have this problem in any other hotel. We just squished them as we saw them but it did make us feel uneasy as we would see at least 5 at a time. We didn't have food in the room to encourage them to come in.
Otherwise the staff were great and the facilities were nice. Regardless of these complaints, we still...
