Rayaan Guest House Phuket — Hotel in Patong

We booked a deluxe family room for a few nights but the room was very basic and in need of decoration. It says on Trip Advisor it is newly refurbished all I can say is that's a very old statement. There was an electrical socket hanging off the wall which was repaired the day after and the whole room was generally grubby.|There is a breakfast plan advertised which we didn't take but I don't know how this would work as there is no dining area only a very small reception area which was usually strewn with middle eastern men who run the property, there are no thai people around. Don't bother booking breakfast there are many restaurants nearby.|The bathroom was ok and had an electric shower. |You also have to ask to have your room cleaned and towels changed and leave your key at reception.|Although there was a safe deposit box in our room we were told it didn't work but not to worry as they have cctv.|The location is right in the centre of Patong and only a few minutes walk from the beach, Soi Bangla and Jungceylon shopping centre.|Our room overlooked other rooms from nearby hotels so was quiet.|These are cheap rooms but there are much better if you shop around.|I wouldn't recommend this guest house for families but ok for backpackers who want to spend as little...

We booked two rooms for 5 nights in Jan17. Both rooms have been so unbelievable dirty, humid, and full of mold. The points apply for both rooms we had:||All the walls were wet and had mold. ||Every furniture was full of dust. ||The bathroom was full of muld. ||The AC was dripping on the floor. ||Water was dripping through the Windows after rain.||||After we got our rooms we just had a nap. When we woke up, all 4 of us felt sick for the rest of the day. ||||At least, after we complaint we got to other rooms at the Rayaan Beach Resort which belongs to the same owner. I recommend to choose another place. Maybe the more expensive rooms in this guesthouse are good, but we booked the cheap room and it was awful. Small sad room without windows, yellow linen and terrible smell from the bathroom.
