I had an awful experience at Miran Hotel in Istanbul Fatih. From the start, the shower was leaking through the base. We reported it to the management, who assured us that someone would check it. However, no one ever came, and out of respect for their word, we didn’t raise the issue again.
Things got worse two days later. In the middle of the night, the bidet in the bathroom started running on its own — twice. I had to get up both times to turn it off. That morning, the water in the building turned dark brown with visible particles in the toilet and sink. When we flushed the toilet, the dirty water backed up into the sink.
We reported this to the management, and they claimed it was a city-wide issue, advising us to let the faucet run for 30 minutes. We followed their instructions, but the water remained brown. Suspicious, we contacted two nearby hotels just a four-minute walk away. Both had clear, clean water and confirmed they had no issues. When we visited in person, they even laughed when we told them what our hotel had claimed.
When we returned to request a refund for the remainder of our stay, the manager was extremely rude and continued insisting it was a city problem. He claimed they were "putting tablets in the water to clean it." After frustrating arguments back and forth for 40 minutes, I told the manager that it’s a legal requirement to refund clients if the hotel is experiencing issues and guests wish to leave. I even explained that I could file a complaint with the police, emphasizing that it would be better to simply refund the remaining four days and let us leave. His rude response was, "Do not threaten us; I’m getting the water cleaned."
I reported this issue at 9 AM but had already been waiting on this matter since 6 AM, out of courtesy to management, thinking they might already be working on it. Out of respect, I didn’t want to disturb them early in the morning, but nothing changed. They had us change rooms at 3 PM, but the water was still disgusting. We decided to leave the hotel after wasting the entire day.
To sum it up: save your money! Do not book this hotel. The management is dishonest, the service is horrible, and the rooms are outdated with...
Read moreThis hotel was perfect for those wanting somewhere close to the tram, Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar. Rooms are a bit outdated but the location made up for it. Check in went smoothly and the guy was really nice. Day before actual check out, there was another man at reception and we let him know that we'd be checking out at 5pm as we had a late night flight. Tranfer to the airport was pre organized through the holiday package that i paid for. He was happy with that and said we just needed to return key to reception and let them know we were checking out. When it came time for us to check out, the man who checked us in was on the desk and boy oh boy did he make us feel uncomfortable. He was angry that we were checking out early, then he was angry that we didn't organize transfer to the airport through him. He then kept telling me to call the company to cancel the transfer and kept asking who we went through. Not long after, I received a call from the person who organized our trip saying thay the receptionist had called our transfer company saying that I wanted to cancel our transfer to the airport. I don't even know how he knew which company we went through but this made us super uncomfortable and really ruined our stay. We ended up waiting outside with all our luggage and couldn't...
