Tessekuler!
I visited some 5 or 6 years prior, and to this hotel first, from the aerodrome, Ataturk, Istanbul Airport, and I was with some folks, and I was coming from India.
I had lived some, in the Far East, and seen some India, but the facade of the approach to the area was something to behold. A taxi ride by the sea. Not cheap.
As soon as we arrive, I ask, the lady at the Desk, at Empress Zoe, "Which way, to Hagia Sophia?". She look at my face, "She say, the Aya Sofia is this way, and here is map if you want." I took :)
The room is lovely, the watermill. The yoghurt. The cats, and the gate where we stay. We were lucky to receive recommendation from English family, of desi origin of this place. Of course we book ourselves. They say it is a gem. It was. Otherwise, we are staying Beyoglu or something where we visited. This place is like many in the East. But Far-East. There are two place in India.
There are good eating options in close bye. We have the Bake vegetables and Chicken.
The rugs were lovely. I slept on one. We were ground floor. If you wish, you may ask for fotos.
All my love, Dhruv.
P.S Constantinople is a long word, if you can't spell, IT, you are...
Read moreThis was the perfect small hotel for me. The location was a block or two from the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. It was in a quaint and safe neighborhood that was fun to be a part of during my stay. My room was clean, the bed was heavenly, I had a lovely marble bathroom with great HOT water, and the staff were incredible. The breakfast was delicious and ample. After the first morning, the woman in the kitchen automatically handed me my coffee with cream and sugar. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and willing to make everyone feel at home. When I'm traveling by myself, I don't want to stay in a big "American Style" hotel. I want to feel like part of a family while having all the privacy I want. This hotel is in a perfect location for wandering, and with lots of restaurants all around. I will stay there again and again. Plus the hotel cat (Sophia) added to the whole experience. If you have "stair" issues, please request a ground level room as there is no elevator (but plenty of strong men to carry your bags). I loved...
Read moreWe loved our stay at Hotel Empress Zoe. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of some of Istanbul’s most well known attractions such as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace as well as lesser known attractions like the amazing Cistern Basillica. The hotel is also a short stroll down to the promenade that runs alongside the Bosphorus. Great for running, walking or just watching the locals fish, swim and laze on the rocks in the sun. We had a garden suite which absolutely charming and very generous in size. An added bonus was that we had an additional access to hotel through gates at rear of the property and our room opened onto Zoe’s lovely garden - an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the streets beyond. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely...
