OMMA HOTEL — Hotel in Fatih

Room is a good size and clean. Location is bad, since main road to hotel closes at 10am and reopens at 9pm, no taxi can take you to the hotel, we had to push our luggage few hundred yards. Very hard to sleep due to noise from inside and outside of the hotel, but the biggest problem was staff try to scam you in every possible way, if you didn’t pay for your stay online get prepared to be scammed, Aziz want me to pay by euro or TL, he said he doesn’t accept American dollars, he can’t charge your card with euro and he can only charge 1000TL in one transaction, after a couple attempts on my credit card, I said stop, as my credit card company will shut down my card, if they see multiple same amount charge, so I decided to pay cash, Solaiman tried to convince me that the amount I paid is short by 400 TL, but it wasn’t, he was just counting the money in a way to make it look short. I asked for a receipt, he handed me a hand written piece of paper saying I paid for my stay. Last but not least, Aziz was trying to get ride of us the night before our leave by saying they have renovation going at the hotel and we won’t have any power or water and he will pay for one night stay at a hotel owned by his friend, this story was a big lie to make us leave to have room for...

I want to say thank you to the concierge of the Omma Hotel. The young man was very kind and helpful. A few weeks ago I was a very tired, solitary traveler who couldn't find her hotel -- just dragging her suitcase around in circles in the neighbourhood -- and it was getting late. I saw the well-dressed concierge of the Omma standing at the front desk of the brightly lit lobby and decided to go in to ask for help. The concierge was very kind to me and and gave good directions. (Turns out I was so close but needed that extra nudge.) The concierge of the Omma showed true professionalism and hospitality. One thing that is phenomenal at this hotel is its service. Each staff member is very respectful, friendly, welcoming, helpful, and most importantly, hospitable. They are always there to help and always try their best to ensure you enjoy your stay. They were the highlight of this hotel for us. The Omma Hotel would not be the same without Suleyman, Alma, Mekan, Sahra, Gulnur, Naz and Yusuf....
