I often hesitate to write poor reviews or name and shame anyone as I like to give people the chance to rectify a situation but the service that I received at this establishment today was reprehensible. To start with, we were put off by how poorly kept the place was. A well known brand like the Rosewood has a worldwide reputation for class and service. Unfortunately, those staffing, maintaining and managing the Glo Bar are far from either. The place was messy, tired, and we had to flag people several times before we got served by unenthusiastic servers who were not even familiar with their own menu. We all know happy hours and 2-4-1s are quite common in Abu Dhabi and explicitly told the server that we wanted to use our 2-4-1 âdrinkâ vouchers to get a round of prosecco. One of us ordered a beer off happy hour. No explanations were given to us about the T&Cs of either promotion.
We ordered some finger food which were insipid and stale and our drinks were not cold. Somewhere during the evening the wind knocked down an empty glass that shattered everywhere. We moved tables and not one person bothered to clean up the broken glass despite them being fully are of it. We asked THREE times for it to be cleaned because we were concerned about the children who were running around and could have terribly hurt themselves. We had to go and tell their parents to be careful because no one was cleaning it up. After 45 minutes, a staff member troubled themself to remove the shards of glass off the ground. Out of nowhere, we start smelling and seeing smoke and fire. Turns out it was a smoking pit they set up next to the bar which was aggressively blowing an extraordinary amount of heavy smoke on the few patrons there, making everyone visibly uncomfortable and making the place smell terrible.
We quickly decided we had had enough and asked for the bill. We were charged for 2 beers (despite only being served 1) and our 2-4-1 âdrinkâ entertainer vouchers for our sparkling wine were not honoured. The manager, Elisabeth, adamantly and stubbornly INSISTED that her servers had explained to us that only cocktails would count for a 2-4-1 and that they also informed us that the happy hour beer promo was for 2 beers, not one (so why did they never serve us that 2nd beer?). The server then joined in and LIED with an aggressive tone, claiming that he told us about all the T&Cs. Despite us explaining to Ms. Elisabeth several times that no such information was given to us, she shamelessly told us âwell I am informing you nowâ. She showed complete indifference, had no grace, lacked professionalism and came in strong with an extremely offputting attitude. She truly didnât have any interest in doing her job, taking care of her customers, or representing her establishment with some pride and dignity.
I STRONGLY urge everyone to stay far away from this ill managed and ill seen to place. There are so many more wonderful restaurants two minutes away who actually know how to communicate with customers, have good food/drinks and how to take care of a restaurant. Itâs no wonder that the place was so empty during sunset on a Saturday in such a bustling part of town. This venue could have potential but it has...
Read moreUnfortunately, My Christmas dinner was anything but a pleasant experience. I was there to enjoy Christmas dinner with friends, and I expected professional customer service, ready set up, and high-quality food. Regrettably, the food was less than ordinary, served in small cold portions and overpriced.
I asked them to turn on the fire heater and They said, âsure sirâ. However, they never fulfilled that promise. There were more than 5 heaters, 4 of which were broken and they only managed to turn on 1 and it was far from everyone and it was cold and windy. I pleaded them to move the heater closer to our table, yet they refused. After 2 hours of shivering they provide me with a blanket.
The staff were in mess. I am on the keto diet and I asked the waitress not to put any gravy or sauce on Turkey and came smothered in sauce. I had to send it back and wait for half an hour to have my turkey served the way I had ordered.
I asked for a Cheese platter instead of the dessert. Then, I asked the waiter what kind of cheese you have. He simply answered me in broken English " ALL KIND OF CHEESE " !!! I never thought that I would hear such a vague answer from a waiter working in a high-end a restaurant. I am sure that with proper training their staff would know that there are more than 1800 different types of cheese in the world.
I thought that dining at Rosewood hotel comes with high standard service, but unfortunately, it was very disappointing.
The only thing that I enjoyed was the view and I was planning to book a table for New year's eve, but after what happened, I don't recommend this...
Read moreLove this place đ live saxophone (lovely) always gives me relaxation. Atmosphere is so nice so you can chill with glass of wine chit-chatting with your friends (specially for ladies recommended placeđ) and good for couples as well. Would recommend for birthday celebrations also. Food is tasty but small range of items, sometimes we order from other restaurant (grilled staff - yammy đ). When it is busy you can feel they have lack of staff, we have to raise hand for a while to get attention, but only when really busy. There is one hostess, Philippino lady, small and slim with black hair (always forget to ask her name) she is really best hostess, always smiles, makes sure you are accommodated comfortably and ready to assist any time with any matter. She made our experience from the very first day that's why you are always want to be back to such...
