We were looking forward to camping here because it was so close to the river. The campground is nice enough, but the sites aren't very private. A pair of women two sites down kept talking to us all day and played really loud music. They were belligerent at times and were drunk and doing various other substances. It was past 11 and they were playing music very loudly. At one point, they came over to our campsite and stole a log that divided the campsites to burn. The camp host at one point came out of her camper and walked around while this was happening and didn't ask them to quiet down and they wouldn't budge after we made polite requests. Ended up leaving and walked to the Boat Launch Campground and had a...

The ground is pretty flat, and easy to set up a tent. Relatively small and not private, but it's right in town and by the water, so it's a blast to people watch, watch the sunset, socialize, and access the town's amenities. Campsites have great trees for hammocking. The toilets are flushable with running sinks and lights in the bathroom. The toilet paper and hand soap were always stocked. The bathrooms weren't super clean and the "women's" side stopped working over the weekend. But I've seen much worse conditions in borough/state parks, though, so it's not bad. $20 is a bit much for a bare-bones site, but it's just as much money further from the town with no bathrooms, so I can't...

Bare bones campground at the end of the town strip next to the river. 20$ a night, first come first serve (way too much imo). Camp host IS parked on site to monitor payments. Water is available, and flushing toilets, but they're not very clean at all. No showers. One picnic table and fire ring per site. No power. As in the rest of Alaska, expect plenty of mosquitos in the summer. Sites are very close together and best used for tent or car camping. No RVs are allowed. We stayed one night and it was a fine alternative to a hotel for a quick stopover in this super cute town. Wouldn't stay more than 2 nights due to nasty bathrooms and no...

Tiny campground for tents and car camping - no RVs allowed. The sites are really small, next to the river, and at the end of the town strip. It's $20/night, $5 for fire wood. Camp host on site keeps track of who comes and goes, so pay before you set up. Be prepared for food traffic near your sites possibly since it is between town and the river - very busy area. Site 1 & 2 are the most private, site 7 looks to be a "walk in" site but it's really just a few feet from where you park so don't worry about having to hike. All sites are first come first serve. No hookups/electricity/water. We loved that this is so close to town!

Stayed here Sunday June 9th. Good halfway campsite between Anchorage area / Denali when you pit stop in Talkeetna. $20/night, firewood is $5/bundle, 8 sites all come with picnic tables/fire pit. 4 stars because restrooms have toilets/sinks, but heavily used by visitors passing by to the waterfront area so expect decent foot traffic/motor noises on a good weather day. Mosquitos were out a decent bit too. We had a perfect sunny day so quite busy day for the town, but worth it to sleep by the river and be steps from viewing Denali. Steps from main street for all the restaurants and coffee shops.
