I wish I could give this place 100 stars. Best customer service experienced in my life. Shawn is an awesome, generous, and passionate person who loves adventures and Alaska. He is so excited for you to get out and experience the outdoors and is genuinely excited to help you get there any way he can.

So the shop needed a couple more weeks to officially open and they were still setting up/getting bikes and gear, but we were trying to cycle through Denali while the park was closed in May. Because the season wasn't in full swing, we couldn't find a place to rent bikes outside of Anchorage! That's when we called/emailed North Shore Cyclery and despite being closed, Shawn contacted us back and offered to help us. He said he can put together two fat bikes, locks, extra tube, and all the tools we needed for the trip! The next day before we went to go pick up the bikes, he told us that unfortunately he realized last night that he didn't receive the tools to put together one of the bikes yet. But! He said to swing by nonetheless and that he would lend us his own personal fat bike! I was so shocked at his generosity. We had an incredible experience riding in Denali (even rode right into a bear on the road) and we wouldn't have been able to experience that without Shawn. When we returned the bikes, he was so thrilled we had a great time. You don't see people like Shawn around anymore... He reminded us that kind people leave a lasting impression on others. I can't recommend this shop highly enough. It's worth making the stop at Talkeetna on the way to Denali to rent/buy gear from North...

A real top-notch experience. We rented two fat-tire bikes to ride the Denali highway, and the bikes were awesome. I've been into riding my whole life and it was a great surprise to find such a quality outfit near to Denali. Not only were the bikes high quality and in excellent condition (almost brand-new), but we were given everything we'd need for a multi-day trip including spare tubes, tools and locks. The owner Shawn really knows his stuff and can give advice based on his personal experience and knowledge of the area. This place has a real Local-Bike-Shop feel, and I wouldn't consider going anywhere else if you're looking to rent...

My friend and I had a great time on Talkeetna Gear Shop's bike and brew experience. We had never used e-bikes before and are tempted to buy one.

We took photos of Denali, checked out a local creek, explored a bit, and finished up with a yummy pizza and drinks at Denali Brewing.
