Visited this property as we are HH members. We've always enjoyed these properties. We planned a family get away so that we may celebrate my father's birthday. One of the manager's allowed us to use the room off to the side which was great. We appreciated it so much. a maintenance worker provided us with a large bucket of ice which we were pleased he did this. The issue was the front desk said no. She had him come back in and tell us that he couldn't leave it. We responded by asking for a bowl from the pitch we may use for the ice. We instantly received a no from the male assistant manager and the front desk representative.
I went up to my room to fetch my ice bucket to use for us, as I exited the elevator I overheard the assistant manager speaking with another employee. They were speaking about my family. "What do they expect? they are paying absolutely nothing" followed by laughter. I was floored because as I made eye contact with them, they rushed into the back.
Afterwards I heard another guest (who I would find out later had just checked out). She was by herself and had stated "I've got my jumper cables set, my hood open so things will be quick." She was interrupted and was told that the manager would have to approve the jumping of her car. He's on break in the back and will be back within an hour. As I overheard this interaction I approached the woman and asked if I would be able to assist her. She stated that her battery died and needed a jump start. I met her in the parking lot and she proceeded to tell me how one of the front desk reps advised that she would be able to help her. She was a diamond member and who had checked out. She experienced the rude staff as I had as well. I wasn't surprised.
This was a stay which was supposed to be a great family gathering. It was a nightmare. The rooms are not cleaned very well either. My daughter had lost her shoe, I looked under furniture and saw what looked like a used tissue and a used kuerig container. This was the worst experience and has changed my whole opinion on the entire Hilton brand. If you are looking for a great place to stay, please continue to search. This place...
Read moreHello, I prepaid for our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Albuquerque (Airport Location). The day before my wife checked in, I called the location to make sure she wouldn't have any trouble checking in without me, as I just had eye surgery and wouldn't be able to join her as I had previously planned. They assured me it would not be a problem. Instead, when she checked in, they said she needed a separate card to hold the room charges, as they didn't have any record of my prepaid room. This already stressed out my wife as she wasn't expecting to have to do this. I called numerous times to talk to the manager who was not available. When she finally returned my call, she said she "receives reports of prepaid rooms on Fridays, so mine wasn't in her records." ( This was a Monday, and I prepaid on the Hilton website on Sat) I am sorry, but in this age of technology, can that really be true? Ridiculous. But she did say she would look into it and make sure my wife's card wasn't charged. This morning I received the automatic checkout folio and it says that the room charges WILL be settled on my wife's credit card! What is going on here?! Is this really a Hilton property?! I have a credit card statement that says I have already been charged for this room! Why am I being charged twice for the same stay? I have been a loyal Hilton Honors member for a while, and usually get great service. This is a huge let down. Very frustrated and upset at having to strain my one good eye after surgery to have to write this. Very disappointed in Hilton right now. Inexcusable. Now I look at previous reviews and see that other people have been charged twice at this location before. Buyer Beware! The funny thing is that I had previously stayed at this exact location last week for 2 days prior to my surgery, and I booked through Expedia with ZERO issues. But when I booked through Hilton as a Hilton Honors Member, this is what happens. I guess membership does NOT have its privileges. I will have to think twice before booking with Hilton again...
Read moreAfter a long and tedious day of travel with nearly everything that could go wrong doing so, I was looking forward to a “no hassle” stay at HGI. Unfortunately, that’s not what I got. |First, likely through no fault of the hotel, the digital key system wasn’t working. At first, this was just annoying. But upon arriving at the hotel, it became even more of an issue. The front of the hotel was completely blocked by cars, so I thought I’d just go ahead and park and check in. The problem is that the parking deck is down a long ramp. The door to the elevators going to the front desk was locked - had I had a digital key, that wouldn’t have been an issue. So instead I had to trudge back up the steep ramp in the rain and dark which made it very dangerous. |Check in was relatively uneventful and efficient. |The room was absolutely not up to HGI - or ANY Hilton property - standards. |Every corner of the bathroom and shower was dirty and/or mildewed. I’m not sure that there wasn’t black mold in some areas. |The bedside table even had “gunk” on it. |The closet area is hardly that! There is barely enough space to hang more than one or two shirts. There are a few shelves but they are too shallow to be of any use. There was a small dresser under the tv, but it is apparent that they expect this to only be a one-night-stay type of place for people coming and going from the airport. I’m certainly glad I only stayed one night, and I won’t repeat that mistake. |The only bright spots were that the water pressure in the shower was fantastic and it heated up quickly. Also, the Hilton Reward waters were in the mini fridge and nicely chilled. |There are a lot of nice places to stay in ABQ. This isn’t...
