Extremely Disappointed with This Chipotle Location
I’ve been a loyal Chipotle customer, but my recent experience at this location on Sunday, 1/05, left me thoroughly disappointed. Not only was I charged nearly double for my usual meal, but the overall service and cleanliness were far below acceptable standards.
From the start, the person preparing the bowls for my family seemed visibly upset and annoyed, as if our presence was an inconvenience. Out of the four employees standing around, only one appeared to be working the line, creating unnecessary delays—especially with a crowd filtering in from a nearby mega-church.
For my order, I requested a bowl with no rice, double steak, and double chicken. Not only did the employee seem confused by my request, but they were visibly frustrated when I clarified. Additionally, they had a hand written sign stating that the store was out of burrito shells until 1/06, they also claimed they were out of steak as well. When I offered to wait, another employee brought steak from the back and cut it up for me. However, there were no grilled peppers and onions available, leaving fewer options to complete my bowl.
When my bowl was finally assembled, it was poorly constructed, with guacamole, lettuce, and sour cream falling off the top. The person at the register asked another worker to retrieve these items from the to go station and put them into a side container so I could still get what I paid for. Even then, the quality of the bowl did not justify the shocking price of $28 and change.
For comparison, I visited Moe’s the next day (today) and ordered the same type of bowl (double steak and double chicken). Not only did they have more vegetable options to enhance the meal, but the total was just $16 and change—a significantly better value.
To make matters worse, the overall cleanliness of the restaurant was appalling. Tables were littered with leftover food and trays, forcing diners to clean their own tables before sitting down. The drink station was visibly dirty and hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, as evidenced by the grime visible in my photos.
After spending $85 for meals for myself, my wife, and my daughter, I expected much more from this Chipotle location. The service, quality, and cleanliness were unacceptable, and I am hesitant to return to this restaurant in the future.
UPDATE: Despite their response below, I can not contact them. It is a form you fill out attaching pictures and then it ask you to submit. It gives you a bad request error each time. It was as disappointing as the dining experience. I engaged the chat and after an agonizing repeat for a live agent I finally got one who simply apologized and ended the chat. They absolutely don't care and their response is a boiler plate response basically saying they don't care. Go to MOE's if you are wanting this type of food. They cook it in front of you as well and they have more options at a fraction of the cost. It is just 2-miles away and had more pleasant...
Read moreI visited this location for the first time on 11/14/24. My husband and I had seen the advertisement for the smoked-brisket and decided to order 2 bowls. Before I placed our order, I used their restroom. I noticed that the soap dispenser was either clogged or broken, and the hand sanitizer dispenser was the only one working. It has been proven that washing your hands with soap and water for about 20 seconds removes dirt and germs more than hand sanitizer alone. My question was how were the females employees washing their hands effectively while preparing the meals? Before I actually started my order, I noticed the young, black girl swiping her phone and playing in a coworker's hair (a Hispanic male). She was wearing gloves but made no effort to change them until I said something to her. She proceeded to take my order after seeing me at the counter. I asked her if she would wash her hands and change her gloves in which she complied and did so in the back. There was a young black male cutting up chicken. He was very diligent in changing out his gloves each time that he cut a new piece of meat. Next, I ordered 2 Brisket bowls with beans, brown rice, peppers/onions, corn salsa, guacamole, cheeses, sour cream, etc. We also got a bag of chips, and three varieties of salsas. This was our first time there. Moreover, we didn't receive a receipt for our order. Therefore, I was puzzled by the expensive price of $40.55?!! One thing that I hate about this place of business is that if you have a complaint or issue that needs to be resolved, everything is set up by their automation system. When I needed to be connected to a manager, I kept getting the run-around. The Brisket was decent, but not worth the high price. It's likely we...
Read moreThis Chipotle location on Clemson Blvd is awful. First off, it's filthy and looks like no one cleans and Secondly, they were apparently out of most things to build a bowl or burrito. I step up to the counter and the lady came over and said the rice is going to take 5 more minutes. Meaning both white and brown rice? When it was ready I went back up to the counter and told her I'd like 1 chicken bowl and 1 veggie bowl, however the white rice wasn't done and it would take 30 minutes to make. I went with the brown rice..next she told me they were out of veggies. No veggies for my veggie bowl, whatever I'll just do beans, rice, and the fixings. However, when we got to the end they were out of sour cream, cheese, lettuce, pico, and the corn salsa. Horrible customer. The employee should have made it known they were out of most things for the night or they werent going to fill things up, make food for the rest of the night. Either way awful! I went in at 8:30 PM and this location closes at 11:00 PM on Fridays. I told the employee at the counter to keep the food. I will not go back and spend my money at Chiptole. The employees at Chiptole need to be retrained. Anyway, off to Chikfila where they have A+ customer service. Get it together Chiptole. Anyways, off to Chikfila I went where I always get A+...
