Let me start off by saying its awesome to see a Black Owned Micro Nano Brewery located in the heart of Atlanta's Castleberry Area. The good part is its not far from the Mercedes Benz Stadium, its an event space & a curated Art Gallery that rotates out the Art every 45 days with new artist.
I am not a beer drinker, however, I am always looking to try different beers to see if I can find one that I will enjoy. And at Atlantucky I found it the 'PEACH BELIEVE ME'. I also enjoyed the J. KOLCH which is a 'jalapeño' based beer. The BEST part of this Brewery is they have 'BeerMosa & Beer type Cocktails'.
The Atlantucky is owned by the Nappy Roots, I had the oppourtunity to meet 2 of members Fish Scales & Skinny DeVille who told the story of how they started the Brewery. The space has a lounge, 3 Bars & a huge entertaining space with table games & a photo booth. They also will rent the space out for private events which can be divided into 3 different event spaces.
I had the oppourtunity to tour the brewery to see where & how the beer is made. In the lab they also explained the process & how they come up with different flavor of beers. The staff is very friendly, accommodating, and they explain exactly the taste of each beer.
Lastly, they do not serve food, howeve, they do have food vendors on site who have responsible prices.
I highly recommend checking out Atlantucky Brewery you will not be disappointed & you never know what Celebs you may see....
Read moreWound up in town for the falcons 1st preseason game of the year. Realized this place was within walking distance of the reverb. Then I realized this spot is ran by members of my favorite rap group. Had to check it out. Wound up there Saturday. We were the only people there for a bit. We tried most of the beer that they make in house. The Kentucky mud and mango habanero are game changers. We met the most awesome bartender I have ever met, I think they may call her "Auntie". When she showed up the place came alive. Not only was she knowledgeable about the beer, she was super sweet and took us to the back for a sec to see where the magic happens. As if this review isn't long enough, they had a special event that night. We met a hoss boss of a man that looked like he was running security, he stopped and talked for a bit, and when he found out I was a hip hop nerd that loved nappy roots he made sure we had the most awesome night of our trip. We wound up ordering a flat bread with bacon, sausage, and hamburger and it was fire. It was a perfect way to end the night and sober our drunk asses up for the walk back to the hotel. There is a real sense of community in this place and that spoke to me the most. The world is an absolute dumpster fire, so it means that much more when you find a spot where everyone is welcomed with love. It is just a super sweet bonus that they also welcome you with...
Read moreWhat can I say about Atlantucky. Even though it’s been only about a month since I have first come in, I feel like I have found my ‘Place’, my ‘Cheers’, so-to-speak. It also helps that since I have moved to SW Atlanta, they are even closer to home now.
Anyhow, they have been on my radar since I moved here almost 3 years ago and I still hadn’t come in to check them out. Well, the first time that I did, the incomparable Gomer was bartending. Immediately he made me feel like one of the ‘regulars’ and told me the entire story of Atlantucky as well as all of the varieties of beers they had at the moment. Then I ordered some food from Quan and the kitchen staff. The Pizzas, Salads, and Paninis are top tier. Finally, I met Angie, who sometimes bartends, but is actually the Brewmaster behind all of Atlantucky’s beers. To say that I have gotten a full-circle view in less than/just about a month is crazy. Love them, 5 stars, 10/10, idk what else to say, come try them. Also they are LITERALLY next door to Mercedes Benz and State Farm so if you’re going for a show or concert it would be stupid NOT to come in...
