This stay at the Residence Inn has made me evaluate all Residence Inn Properties. I will not stay at another Residence Inn property unless I absolutely have to. I have been staying at Marriott properties since the 90s and this is the absolute worse experience. From the attitudes to the dirty utensils. The first day I got to the Residence Inn was early morning. I wasn't going to do any cooking until later. Monday I received more towels and told the housekeeper that the cooking utensils were dirty with dried food and the cabinet that held pots and pans had Mac n Cheese stuck to it. Some other pots and utensils were dirty too. Evidently no-one was told because when I called the front desk I had to mention it again. The assistant manager was the one to clean the pots and gave me new utensils. She offered me 15,000 points for my trouble and I asked her if that was enough to stay here at this hotel and she said I would need 17,000.points to stay. I told her I would think about it and call customer care. I felt I should have received 17,000 points because that was just plain nastiness with the utensils, dishes and pot pull-out tray. She said it was going back to her so if I wanted my points quicker I need to let her know.
Wednesday I asked if I could get my trash emptied and when would someone service the room because I needed more towels and paper towels because there were no paper towels in the kitchen nor dishwashing liquid ( there wasn't any when I arrived) if you wanted to wash the pans because there was only one dishwashing powder that was made available. The front desk lady mentioned Thursday was service day and that she could have someone come by and empty the trash and bring me towels. The young man came and emptied my trash and brought me towels and he said that nobody told him that I needed paper towels. He said he would go get them but never came back. I had to go and buy a saucepan because there wasn't one in the kitchen nor was there a tray you could broil things on. I also had to buy foil, paper towels, plasticware and dishwashing liquid. I also never had a dishcloth to wash dishes so I improvised with the Bounty Paper Towels I bought! I have never had to buy cooking pans or utensils when I stayed at any other Residence Inn!
Waited for housekeeping on Thursday..nobody showed up!
Came Friday after I called again!
My review is too long and has a lot more detail but the GM has the complaint. Moved to a...
Mildew, mold, inoperable HVAC, build up in the HVAC return, odors, bugs, torn carpet, peeling paint (lead concern), broken painter doors (more lead concerns), peeling tub, water leaks, running toilet, improper ventilation, faint 1950's lighting, and inappropriate levels of cleanliness. Standing water was in the dishwasher upon checkin. The dishwasher water was filthy. I could see the old food items under the stove and refrigerator. That's probably tge reason for the lingering garbage smell.
ASSESSMENT BACKGROUND: I spend 65% of my life in Bonvoy properties, traveling for work. This is a fair assessment in contrast to several other places I have rented.
LOCATION: This location does NOT deserve a rating for the genius location: Buckhead. It does not meet the standard of the area, in which appears to be another means of false advertising.
STAFF: The front desk staff was nice enough; however, their answer to all property issues was the same: "It's a dated property." The breakfast prep individuals spoke little English and rarely tried to interact. They just watched the guests and remarked between themselves: No smiles and unapproachable body language. The maintenance people had difficulty keeping anything repaired. 3-calls for the same broken AC/heater is unsatisfactory. No 24/7 maintenance is unheard of. The cleaners tracked lawn rubbish indoors and left it. Two housekeeping calls and I had to specifically request they vacuum their mess from the room. Almost forgot that one of the management staff practically tried to cancel my reservation when I brought some of the issues to his attention on my first night. That's what slumlords do when they don't intend to fix anything.
RESOLUTIONS: This property is unacceptable. I suggest a Bonvoy inspection from HQ. Hopefully, that would cause the property to be upgraded with basic essentials like working bathroom ventilators, working heat, and working air. Maybe Quality Assurance will call for a complete tear down and rebuild to meet the appropriate quality of life expected from a Bonvoy standard.
BTW: Lack of complaints from other patrons doesn't equal lack of existing problems. Some people don't have other options or haven't stayed in true luxury provided by other Bonvoy properties. Whether my employer reimburses me or not, this is no way to live. Did I mention that my fiance is a home inspector (14-years)? My...
Read moreI have been staying at this hotel for years and I had a good experience until this specific stay. and it is definitely not likely I will come back here or recommend this hotel.
For some reason we feel Ms Jamadi Jolomi did not want our business from the very first day on July 29th. I feel this is the first Marriott hotel that I wlll stay and not be treated like an elite member and it should be looked and reviewed especially this specific...
