I visited this facility on October 21, 2021, and was scheduled at 11:45 AM. I arrived early, and they were able to see me at the time I arrived. Everyone seemed friendly, the visit with the doctor seemed nice, and that they were attentive. Although I went regarding one problem, they created another. I used the cream that resulted in a severe reaction of my face turning red, itchy with some swelling, and discoloration. Calling to notify the office of the problem meant nothing to them at all. I made a follow-up appointment one day and canceled the next because no one called even to tell me what could or could not be done to rectify the issue. I felt that these people did not care about me or my well-being at this point but only cared about making money. I now am paying out even more money than I paid for those expensive creams that this office prescribed for things that I did not need. I have had to seek the assistance of an allergist to learn what was in that cream that could have given me the reaction that I have experienced. The allergist office asked that I contact the pharmacy that created the cream to learn about the active and inactive ingredients. Still, they did not want to share such ingredients even with me, expressing that I had an allergic reaction, nor did they try suggesting what could be done to alleviate the reaction to the cream I was having. It took the allergist office sending a letter asking for the ingredients and stating that we needed such ingredients to help with the allergy test to help me with the reaction. After meeting with the allergist on November 4, 2021, and gaining the active and inactive ingredients, I am waiting for them to create patches to learn more of what was in that cream that caused such a reaction. On November 8, 2021, at 10:03 AM, someone from the dermatologist's office contacted me, asking me about how the creams were working, which I go off expressing how I contacted their office to make them aware of the reaction I had. She was calling as if she had no clue of the matter. It is sad to know that this office has people who do not report issues as such, and not a word from the office on how they were going to work to alleviate this matter.
I blame myself for thinking that someone who looked like me could help me and have my best interest at heart. Sadly, you go to a doctor regarding an issue, and they do not address your problem but tell you something else as being problematic. This has been a nightmare, and imagine looking like a freak for your birthday, and even now, my skin is discolored and not back to where it was before using the product prescribed that I did not need. I am not solely blaming the dermatologist's office but also the compound pharmacy because a part of me wonders if that cream should have been kept cool while being shipped to me. It seemed as if the pharmacy rushed this compound and just stuck it in a medicine bottle with excess cream on the outside of the bottle, but the dermatologist entrusts her clients' well-being to this pharmacy. The Worse Experience EVER!!! I drove to Atlanta thinking I might find someone as great as Dr. Willis, who passed away many years ago. This facility gives a bad name to those in this field. The kicker is that I canceled my follow-up appointment on October 29, 2021, but I am getting a call today, November 19, 2021, about the appointment I canceled. I was not going to leave a review, but seeing that they continue to show their lack of caring, I decided to do the same. Today, 11/22/2021, I contacted this office to cancel the same appointment that I canceled on 10/29/2021. I asked the receptionist for her name, who did not give her name, stating that they did not charge for missed appointments. These individuals are so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy appointment was at 10:00am and I got here 15 minutes earlier since I am a new patient. It is now 10:45am and I am still in the waiting room. After finally being called to see the deromotologist I thought to myself let's after all give it another opinion. I was impressed! The doctor herself was amazing, literally knew her stuff in and out. I was so satisfied with her knowledge and passion that I decided on a prescription that I was debating on for three years. After I was finished with the doctor I believe it was the nurse that was asssiting me, she was the very OPPOSITE of the doctor. She told me to go to the front desk where the other two staff members were (very rude and did not know a thing they were doing). I was literally in shock with her lack of effort and sympathy to answer/explain any questions I had for her. The questions I was asking were very important, they were regarding when I should start taking birth control and how I should prepare myself for Acutane. Her answer- as long as you take it before my next appointment. Are you kidding me?? I repeatedly asked her when do I need to make sure to start taking birth control because it is very important that you are on birth control while on Accuatane, her response did not change. I told her I will Google it myself...For a fact I know that is NOT how you handle this process because my sister has taken Accutane. They are required by federal law to explain this procedure ( you are signing required paperwork from the government). They should also make sure that your blood work is okay- none of that happened..None of this was done..Not only did she not know the answers I believe she didn't know the full explanation of my questions. How sad? They could not care less to help me. They were more worried about seeing every patient in the waiting room... This girl clearly did not care about the patient or the patients questions/concerns. Please do yourself a favor, do some research and do not go here. You will save yourself some money, time, stress...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday was my first visit for a pretty ugly derm issue I am in. first I didn't realize it was in a renovated home, which was lovely. I walked in and was greeted by both the receptionists as soft music played in the background. To complete my paperwork I walked into the separated lobby area and was met with a tranquil water fixture, nice furniture, clean environment, and cool music playing from Pandora. I was called into the back, I think her name was Rhonda, not sure, but she was very pleasant and personable. I met with the doctor and she very thoroughly explained my condition and provided paperwork for further information. She explained my tx options and the issue in plain English, lol. It wasn't top executive level, but it wasn't grade school either, but just right for me. After the doctor told me what my tx would be I was a little scared. I told the doctor and her assistant jokingly (but really not jokingly) that I needed someone to hold my hand, LOL. a few minutes later another person comes in the room. So now it's 3 staff (including the doctor) and myself and I'm like Oh Lord what in the world is about to happen, LMBO. they brought someone to hold my hand while I received tx which included several (and by that I mean a lot of shots, lol) around one particular area as step one. It was a nice and pleasant experience, the aides made sure I knew how to take the medication and what to do. Even provided a pharmacy that would deliver one of my rx's. Good customer service use to be on life support, now it's just DEAD. But I really enjoyed my experience at Bankhead Derm. It's a little out of the way from where I live, but if I'm treated with such respect and delight I'm willing to drive a few extra miles. Thank you everyone for making my experience nice. See you in...
