I traveled to Atlanta and stayed at this hotel for work. Even before arrival, the staff did not provide good customer service. My Administrative Assistant called several times about the credit card authorization from our Controllers office. The authorization was sent 11 days before I was due to check in. My assistance called and was told that they had not received anything. Upon speaking with Mercedes, we were told that the fax machine was out of ink in a very matter of fact tone. I would think a hotel of this size and of a well known chain would be able to purchase ink when the fax is a very important office tool. After checking a few more days our calls stopped getting answered. We found out that the employees working the front desk were screening our calls. We found this out because my assistant called from her cell phone and the call was answered immediately. Only then after checking with the Controllers office who had faxed it several times do we find out that it had been received. My assistant had to call from her cell phone to get any kind of service. After traveling 8 and a half hours on 7/13, we finally arrive. Another guest arrived at the same time that I did and we stood at the desk together. Mercedes checked that guest in and gave her the speech about breakfast, the wifi, etc. When it was my time to check in, instead of giving me the same speech she just asked me did I hear what she told the other guest. At that point I wish I could have left. I said Yes because I was tired and ready to get to my room. After that. I had to revisit the front desk three times because my keys would not work. While going back and forth, the hotel staff had carts and vacuums in the middle of the hall. The next morning the hospitality breakfast staff stood in the way while guests were trying to get breakfast. The whole time they continued to reach over guests and were rude when trying to refill food. They could have waited until the crowd thinned out. The hotel itself was decent but the staff needs to be...
Read moreMy wife and I were guests, for the first time, July 20-23 at Fairfield by Marriott Atlanta Buckhead. We are hoping to find a hotel where we can stay every time we visit Atlanta. We realize after this experience that Fairfield by Marriott Atlanta Buckhead is not the place. The reason is that the housekeeping services appear to be nearly non-existent. That was our experience in any case.
The housekeeping we received consisted of a female housekeeper coming to our room on July 21 and setting down a stack of towels and wash cloths. And, on July 22, we unlocked our room to find a woman inside clumsily making the bed (the only time that occurred).
The only way we were able to get our wet, used towels and cloths picked up was to set them outside our room in the hall. That is also how we got the trash in our room removed. We set the trash receptacle liner outside.
Absolutely no cleaning occurred during our stay. Nothing was replenished. Not the shampoo, not the toilet paper, and so on. All of this is unfortunate because this hotel could be a terrific place. The location is good for several reasons. The hotel has free and convenient parking. The dining area is pleasant and we appreciated the breakfast food. It was basic but fine. The hotel is quiet. Bed was excellent, pillows, too. And, it appears in good condition. Desk staff were polite. Other areas of the hotel appeared to be kept clean.
I twice used the Marriott app during my stay to mention my need for housekeeping services. There was NO response in any way. So, the app proved to be useless.
I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone expecting their room to be cleaned and taken care of while they are a guest. There are some basic needs that should be met. Those needs were not met, at...
Read moreFirst problem- We checked into our room, my husband went out to pickup dinner and the kids and I stayed in the room. I got in the shower and when I got out there was a stranger standing in our room next to my baby!!!! Apparently they had rented the same room to both of us. This is absolutely unacceptable in my opinion, so many terrible things could have happened if the stranger had been a bad individual. (I am aware there is a lock on the door I could have used, but I was expecting my husband back and didn’t want to leave him stranded in the hallway.) When we tried to talk to them all we got was an apology, no real offer to make it up to us. Second problem- The rooms were pretty dirty, we found hairs in the bed and all over the bathroom. Third problem- Parking is $12 a night, not free as advertised on this site. Fourth problem- The “pool” is a joke, maybe I missed it in the online description somewhere, but it’s a 3ft cold bath basically. Fifth problem- Breakfast was extremely unimpressive, nothing but processed junk, no real food offered. I was extremely disappointed, this was a trip to take our kids on to celebrate my husbands homecoming from deployment and this hotel really sucked. If we hadn’t already been unpacked and everything I would have left immediately, but I didn’t want to make my family do that after hours in the car already. The only positive I have was the morning staff when we checked out was pleasant. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, I give it 2 thumbs down. (I’m not usually one to write reviews, especially negative as my family owns small businesses I know some days just don’t go right, but I wanted to share because a stranger getting your hotel room key is NOT okay in...
