My wife & i entered our first room in rm #200 down the end of the hall as it looked a bit shady & secluded though there were another room next ours as we entered the room as we looked and observed the setting of the room which was cramped & small there were an office chair and a table blocking our way to the bedroom which was a nuisance to us knowing we'd had to move the chair constantly to get by in & out of the bedroom as the walkway was narrow especially the fact my wife had her rollater walker which she could not get through where the office chair & the table was there be the bathroom kind of blocking the entrance way the bed on the other hand was a full size bed for child to sleep in my wife and i were so disappointed of the fact that it wasn't the room she booked a week ahead before arriving to Atlantic City the room was supposed to be a deluxe room with a king size bed instead we ended up in a room that looked almost like a 600sq ft. 1 bedroom apartment which is bad the bed was horrible it felt as if my wife & i were sinking in as it had some sort of crease or a mattress lump in between the bed with discomfort on your back the outlet socket was loose & broken along with another table in the so called livingroom that small table of the bottom piece was broken at the ends as if someone had purposely stepped into it to break it or drag the table unto the carpet instead of picking it up to prevent it from damaging i don't know? The flat screen television was screwed on unto the dresser to prevent thefts from stealing the flat screen tv yet the flat screen was tilted so bad that if you wanted to straighten it it'll give off the white distorted noise showing the gray static on the screen the sofa wasn't an actual sofa it was a low lounge dingy disgusting look of a sofa that i personally threw the duvet over it for my wife and i can sit in to try to watch the television but for a bit as i had to help my wife up from the sofa because of how low it was the bad thing too was that the television was not facing in the direction of the bedroom if my wife and i wanted to watch television as the flat screen was facing the sofa i had to turn and drag the dresser on the thick carpet to face the bedroom area somewhat toward the foot of the bed to watch television note the flat screen is screwed on unto the dresser yet the table where the office chair goes took all the space where i could have dragged the dresser much closer at the foot of the bed as my wife & i were unhappy with the room in all it's entirely i went to speak to the worker who gave us the room & asked about changing rooms he said that there wasn't anything he can do about it due to other rooms being booked where there weren't any other rooms available that were vacant on which the supervisor wasn't present at the time to speak with which was disappointing with no choice of the situation my wife & i had to stay in that room for the night however the next morning i was able to speak to a man who may be the supervisor i complaint about rm #200 so the supervisor named Paru like the country (Peru) heard my complaint and decided to show me two other rooms which was available rm #305 & rm #304 he & i went to the first room which was rm #305 as soon as Paru opened the door as we entered the room the smell and stench was so bad and spoiled that i quickly said no still i was able to look around a bit with observation but the smell itself in that room was horrendous so Paru showed me rm #304 the room was decent no smell but the small fridge had so much blocks of ice seemed the last person who was in that room had the dial in the small fridge on high volume then Paru showed me the bathroom as i saw a strand of hair on the toilet seat though as dirty as it was i decided that my wife and i stay in rm #304 two queen size beds sanitized everything in that room Paru said to me "there's no guarantee on rooms you book only what's available" breakfast was served 2 doggy bags with juices & muffins poor service don't recommend staying at Super 8 upside beach &...
Read moreWas here a couple days ago for One night I had family with me so we got 2 rooms for the price of $242 online , when I got to the hotel its very close to the beach which is the only great thing, but when I went to check in no one greeted us we stood there for a good 7 minutes and when the guy asked for my name on the reservation the guy told me I have to give a 100 dollar refundable deposit for any damages so I told them sure put it on my card, but the guy NEVER told me for each room which I feel he should have explained that better, so when I checked my bank card the next day I was charged twice for the deposit. Then he asked me if I brought a car which was kind of a weird thing to ask and I said yes why, he then said I have to pay $15 NON refundable for just to park there which is to be honest stupid I'm already paying for the rooms and they want more money like that is just stealing money and ridiculous. They have a pool that shows on the picture its open yet the pool is closed. When I went in my room there were small baby crabs on the desk so I had to flush them down the toilet they don't have an iron or ironing board yet the have the iron stand. The rooms had a weird smell to it and also smelled like cigarettes even though there are No smoking signs outside. Barely slept because the neighbors were being too loud talking and their children running around on the balcony for about an hour and inconsiderate of others they should put up signs to be considerate of there surroundings and others. When I went to check out the guy handed me bags with the breakfast which was a chewy bar, muffin and a sunny d, if you wanted water you have to pay extra for it. He didn't even ask how was my stay at their hotel or anything. Other hotels and motels I've gone to always ask at check out how was the stay or if anything was wrong . Would I come here again? NO! I think I rather save money next year and spend a little more on a nicer hotel in the casinos. My first option was an airbnb but when I checked there cleaning fees are now ridiculously expensive I remember about three years ago we stayed in one and the cleaning fee was about 30 dollars we paid a total of about 250 for two nights and it was a 3 bedroom apartment that fit up to 11 people very close to the beach and now the cleaning fees are about 180 to 200 dollars same price as staying for one night so I wasn't going to pay 400 dollars for one night in a smaller place for 4 people and a baby, so this hotel was my second option but that was a big...
Read moreTitle: "An Average Experience: Super 8 Hotel by Wyndham at Atlantic City"
Rating: ★★★☆☆
I recently spent a Saturday night at the Super 8 Hotel by Wyndham in Atlantic City and found the experience quite average. The hotel's distance from the boardwalk, about a block and a half, could benefit those eager to visit Atlantic City's attractions. Interestingly, despite being nestled in a bustling city, the surrounding areas felt very safe. In particular, walking back and forth from the boardwalk to the hotel, even at night, presented no concerns.
However, the initial impression of the hotel was marred by the reception area's slightly dingy appearance. Additionally, the receptionists working behind large glass windows added an impersonal touch that could raise questions about the property's overall security and hospitality.
The condition of the communal spaces was a disappointment. The elevators and corridors were not well-maintained and noticeably unclean. The hotel's policy of charging $15 per night for parking and an additional $100 for a security deposit, refundable only 48 hours after check-out upon confirmation of no damage, may strike guests as excessive.
While the hotel does advertise breakfast availability, what is provided resembles a snack more than a substantial meal packaged in a simple brown bag. The room I was provided with was basic and featured all the necessities for a single night's stay, but it was pretty cramped.
During my stay, the day was sweltering, so the swimming pool being closed was a considerable disappointment. Although free internet connectivity was provided, the service was slow, making it suitable only for sending short text messages.
Finding my room was more challenging than it should have been due to the confusing signage.
In conclusion, while the Super 8 Hotel by Wyndham is serviceable for a quick stay, those prioritizing cleanliness, spaciousness, and quality service might want to look elsewhere. Despite my less-than-stellar experience, I acknowledge that its proximity to the boardwalk and the safe surrounding areas may appeal to guests who prioritize location...
