Positive- mouth watering deliciousness and not because we just walked 11 miles! We were quickly seated at a table outdoor for two. The waitress was quick and kind and checked on us the perfect amount. I ordered the fish tacos (2 was the perfect amount). Stuffed with mild fish, homemade slaw and a finger licking good sauce- I was quickly reenergized by this meal. My husband ordered the duck burger. The duck itself was perfectly seasoned with a mixture of herbs. The burger was joined by crispy and munch-able fries. A beer and cider completed this meal as a perfect top off to a day of hiking. Considerations- The burgers bun was a bit dry so my husband took it off and dug in. It was also said to have pork belly on it, which was a major selling point after seeing the plate of the neighboring patron. However, being “topped with pork belly” was a bit ingenious. The result was a 1/2 slice of pork belly “jerky”- too small & too dry to impact the flavor. Despite these two small critiques- the duck burger was amazing and he would order again if given the chance. Overall- highly recommend. Great service and great food. $$$-

We've been in Maine for 4 days seeking the ever delicious lobster. We've been disappointed over and over by over priced lobster rolls, over steamed lobster tails, and cheap food. We found Blaze while we were sitting in another restaurant looking at the same menus we've seen for days. Fish, chicken, lobster rolls. We had enough! The wood fire lobster was interesting to me and sounded delicious so we left the other restaurant and went to Blaze. Joe served us and was incredible. He recommended the wood fired chicken wings to us, so we got them dry with some sauces on the side...they were unbelievable. They were massive and the best wings I've ever had. When I tell you the lobster was cooked to perfection and incredibly large, I'm still not doing it justice. We also got the Blaze Burger and I swear it was the best burger I've ever had. They source all their meat from their own farm and that was a huge selling point for us! Save your time, save your money, and eat at Blaze! You will not regret this one of kind place in Bar Harbor. Top notch and very affordable for the quality of food!

My daughter and I are repeat visitors and customers and we were excited to have my husband experience the amazing food and service Blaze has given us in the past. Today we enjoyed a wonderful meal and as we were finishing up Sam our bartender made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed. We had our lab/pyranese with us and we felt he was doing an amazing job. He is super friendly and loves to play. He was quiet for the whole time we were there minus three minor barks when he saw other pups at the park. He was quickly settled and never a threat to anyone. She said to us "people don't know that he is nice and can be scared by a reactive dog, I am uneasy, you shouldn't have reactive dogs in public" I don't want us to lose the right to have dogs". Mind you our dog was very well behaved minus three minor barks and no one even looked out way. She never even attempted to greet him or offer him anything. I have seen Blaze bartenders go out of their way to be nice to dogs so this absolutely shocked me and left us feeling bad. Our wonderful meal experience went out the window. I still tipped generously and I hope in the future this does not happen to anyone. I am a life time dog owner and a Rover sitter who knows when a dog is safe for the public. Zero barks is a absurd expectation and making your customers feel like crap as they are forced to pay a bill while still finishing a drink is...

One of the few places in town open during the winter. It was full but one table for 6 and a two top. We were told there was about a 25 minute wait but about ten minutes in we were told a reservation cancelled and we could be seated at the two top. The woman who seated us was not our server. It took about ten minutes for our server Pauline to acknowledge us. She took our order and brought us our drinks. We ordered the mushroom pizza and waited about 20 minutes for it but it was worth it. When our server brought our food she set it down and disappeared for about 30 minutes. She never once asked us if everything was ok or if we needed anything until she brought our check. I had to flag her down for a drink refill and she did not ask my husband if he wanted one. I ended up sharing mine with him. She dropped the check and came right back to collect payment. I'm not a demanding customer but I expect servers to be attentive and at least once check on the food quality. The woman who sat us was also very busy but she managed to attend her tables equally and repeatedly. Our server although pleasant was just not attentive. The pizza was excellent however and despite the service I would go back but I'd ask for another server. Its a bar mostly so the atmosphere is not my taste but it was pleasant...

I have never left a bad review before, and have very low standards for service, but this place was on another level. For starters, we were seated in the back of restaurant, where a loud beeping could be heard every minute or so (we think it was the heat pump turning on and off). On a slower Wednesday night we waited 45 minutes for our apps, and well over an hour for our food. The food itself was nothing compared to what we have had up in Bangor, and two of us at the table had mistakes made with our order. About half way through dinner our server dropped a soda on the table causing broken glass and soda to get extremely close to our food and phones. Now typically this would never be a problem, we are only human and mistakes are bound to happen. However, our server made no attempt at an apology, not even a quick sorry. She said she would get another drink and quickly left the table while we used our napkins to try to clean up the mess the best we could. She eventually returned with a refill and finished cleaning the spill, and again made no effort to apologize. Over all it was just an uncomfortable and disappointing dining experience. If you are wanting to try blaze I definitely recommend going to their...
