Do not buy from LazyBoy! They are not the company they once were. I purchased a "top of the line" recliner with motorized functioning in November of 2014 & upon pick up I realized my chair was not as impressive as the model on the show room floor. The reclining function does not extend fully so your legs dangle Downwards, thus defeating the purpose of a recliner. After getting the chair home I noticed the reclining was not working right & also the side of the chair disconnected from the chair as well. So we called customer service & had a technician come out to look at the problem. He quickly downplayed my concern over the chair functioning properly but he did somewhat fix the broken part of the chajr. Now 2 years later the side of the chair is broken again & the cushion is damaged on that side from the work done on the chajr initially which is causing a hazard to my young kids that have bumped into the hard corner exposed from the chair. So I went into the store, Christians, DE location, & they helped provide me with an 800 # to call for the cushion issue & another issue. Don't buy the electronic motor function option! The store told me that is covered under a 5 year warranty purchased additionally through a 3rd party. The motor functions are not working so now the chajr is not reclining so I have to call in two places. My furst call was to lazy boy & upon calling they told me the info I was told was incorrect & the cushion is not covered under the standard 3 year warranty but the electronics are only covered for 1 year. So now I paid over $1,400 for a chair that is an eye sore, dangerous for the kids, & doesn't do what it was intended to do, which is recline. Good luck getting any support after you pay for the furniture. This is no longer a great American company with quality products. The $350 recliner i bought at Macy's is still working great & more comfortable then this lazy boy chair. I really just thought the purchase of additional warranties would have meant someting or that lazy boy would stand behind their product. My grandfather purchased a recliner at the same time & they have had a terrible experience as well. It was motorized & included massage options. They all broke after barely being used & a year after purchasing they had to get rid of it & will never buy a lazy boy product again. I never write reviews or complaints but I just hope that this helps at least one person avoid going down the lazy boy path of customer dissatisfaction. Also picking up your chair is a mess, I don't think i even got the chair I picked out but that's another story. My chair was unwrapped & dust & debris laid on it when I came into pick it up. Im pretty sure they gave me a left over chair & i guess I was the sucker that didn't see it coming. DONT BUY FROM LAZY BOY UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY TOO MUCH & GET...
Read moreVery disappointed with our experience at the Christiana Delaware store. We purchased two custom ordered leather recliners on November 27, 2017. I telephoned the store on December 29, 2017 to inquire of the status of our order. At first we were told they were in the warehouse and not scheduled for delivery to the store. Then we were told they would be in the store for pickup on January 2, 2018 after they were inspected. We were called in the afternoon and drove to the store for pickup. Immediately the salespeople wanted us to sign receipt in good condition without looking at them. I refused. When we examined the chairs there were multiple cuts and scratched in the seating area. I was told by Karen that I should take them home and she would send out someone to repair the chairs. I refused. Karen actually told us if we didn't take delivery there wasn't anything she could do for us! I asked for my deposit back and she ignored me. We left the store without an answer and were told she would call us today. No call as of yet. I have contacted their main number and asked for the district manager to contact us. No call. We have posted on Facebook and told to send our email. No response. Poor business practices. DO NOT BUY FROM LA-Z-BOY!!!!!! Update as of 1/3/18 afternoon. I was contacted by their FB representative Autumn whom told me that she spoke with CARYN from the store and CARYN has a tech coming out to the store to repair the leather. After telling Autumn that is not what we paid for and that I wanted the leather replaced or a full refund or I would continue to post our complaint on FB my husband and I were blocked from their FB page. ...
Read moreOur visit to the La-Z-Boy showroom in Newark (Christina) was disappointingly unprofessional from start to finish. The sales staff seemed more interested in shadowing our every move than assisting us in a helpful manner. Instead of respectfully introducing themselves and offering guidance, they hovered over us and even interrupted private conversations between my wife and me.
It would have been far more preferable if they had pointed us towards the items we were interested in and then allowed us space to explore. Instead, the salesperson followed us closely, bombarding us with unsolicited information on every single item we glanced at, whether we showed interest or not.
To make matters worse, the sales tactics employed were misleading and coercive. Initially, we were told about a supposed "month-long sale," only to be pressured when we expressed our intention to leave and think it over. Suddenly, we were informed the sale was ending that very day, attempting to rush us into a decision. However, upon returning a few days later, we discovered the sale was still ongoing, exposing their deceptive tactics.
Our subsequent visit was equally disheartening. The salesperson on duty appeared completely uninformed about the products, services, or even basic warranty information. Fortunately, we had already done thorough research online and knew exactly what we wanted.
Overall, our experience at La-Z-Boy Newark (Christina) was marked by intrusive sales tactics, misleading information about promotions, and a lack of product knowledge among staff members. It was deeply disappointing and has left us hesitant to consider La-Z-Boy for any...
