I was at this location like 6.30 PM, and more people came in like at least 12 to 15 after my order, and sad that they were out of Baguette bread with soups , staff not offering any other alternate bread , 10 out of 15 customers did not know one could have other bread , until on the 11 th customer the manager shows up at counter that they could have another different bread, as she did not wanted the chips , or apple slices or yoghurt and out of regular bread for sandwiches , so I was offered some Parmesanfocca or whatever , but to my disappointment the sandwich was cold , probably not grilled for enough time in the pannini griller, so when I got the sandwich it was cold , the meat and avocado kept falling apart and the 1/2 cup of chicken with rice soup, as I had ordered a combo for like $10 , one probably get like 3 onces, not enough for the 4 0z I should have got , but it was dry and salty, I remember a couple customers went back to get the menu, as not only it was over whelming at the counter with 3 helpers trying to take orders , the staff are so rushed to take order , customers did ot have much of a choice , but rushed to just order with whatever is left over and then the food is not right as they are rushed to order and then one does not even get the right food as was ordered and cold . Since I requested a warm soup , my soup was warm at least, as I had to tell the counter server , that I had been served cold soup, and customers line out to warm up the soup in the microwave. I don't understand why one have to warm up the soup in microwave when one should have been served hot or warm soup to begin with , also there needs to be a decent serving of 4 0z soup and 1/2 cup , when we are charged $10 + and not served a decent serving for the price one pays , sorry to be descriptive so much. I wish some changes appen at this location , maybe just at this location , I have had meals are at other 3 more locations , this does not happen at other places in MO. Hope the New year brings some changes , maybe it's just a local management that needs to change , have the young kids to to be diligent and have enough food to certain time before closing , I think it just getting carried away, maybe, as one know people come here any ways , not a...
Read moreI previously gave Panera of Cape Girardeau a 5 for all categories. There is now only 1 employee I have encountered there that has any ability to be customer oriented and get the job done right. I agree with the rest of these recent posts. Food okay. Service is TERRIBLE. The passive aggressive style. The argumentative mentality when they mess up an order. They COMPLETELY got my order wrong. Now get this they REFUSED to give a refund for the slop and threatened to call the police if I didnt leave once i arrived.... after telling them i would be driving 25 minutes back to get my refund. The threat of calling the cops was ABSOLUTELY UN CALLED FOR and a scare tactic to cause greater frustrations. I didnt get the supervisors name. But he was the same guy that was argumentative about the slop they made. He said his "AGM" told him he doesnt have to give a refund. This place is a joke and hopefully enough people complaining will shut them down and bring in some decent food and service. (Or hey just get rid of the problem.... the people... get some automated machines and no more bad panera) I attempted to file a complaint with the owners and will be reaching out to corporate side of things as well. We all know how that jokes goes these days.... none of them care and its all about getting that big $$$$....
Read moreI stop at Panera Bread/St. Louis Bread Company on a regular basis while traveling as I can get some work done while having a decent meal, so my reviews are always based on the view from a business traveler.
This location is fairly easy to get to off the interstate with ample free parking.
On my first visit, which was on a Thursday afternoon, my food order was totally screwed up, every table was dirty yet few customers and plenty of employees available, no napkins, etc. Just doesn't appear to have anyone that cares. I did visit again after staying at a nearby hotel on a Saturday morning and my food order was correct and everything was much cleaner, so your luck my vary as mine did.
This location had two self-service kiosks for order entry but no self-service cups available upon order, which I have come to really appreciate.
For business travelers, there are plenty of outlets for plugging in devices and a few places around for business conversation. I have seen this exact restaurant floor plan before and I like it.
Since it's the only location in town I guess it might have to do for some, but it's really not the best...
