First time back in Cape in almost twenty years on family business when we went to this location for a late dinner. The server, Carter, was wonderful and patient considering the hour that we came.
She got us sorted with drinks and apps, took our dinner order, and even recognized when one of the drink orders was incorrect - all the while being friendly and charismatic.
The soup, salad, and bread sticks were delicious as always, but the main course was where the dining experience and Carter's service truly shined.
The entrees came out quickly, and while our orders were pretty standard fare as far as Olive Garden goes - chicken tortellini, fettuccine alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs, and a side of crunchy fried shrimp - they were all prepared with care and tasted amazing, again considering the late hour of our visit.
One member of our party fell ill while we were there (completely unrelated to the food preparation, may I add) and Carter and team, recognizing the circumstances were so thoughtful, efficient, and accommodating.
Outstanding customer service doesn't even begin to describe our experience. Carter deserves accolades beyond what my words could express.
"When you're here, You're family!" That's how the slogan goes, and we certainly felt like family thanks to the hospitality on display at this...
Read moreWe had a group of 20 on a Wednesday evening. We called ahead and were told to hold off coming for a half hour for them to get our tables ready. We arrived in 20 minutes and were immediately seated. Our servers were attentive and prompt. No one's order was messed up at my table.
We have various family members spread across two long tables, and working the check out was going to be a mess. One of the servers suggested they ring us up individually and then pay for a stack of checks that they would combine a total for us. A great solution that I know was difficult for them with such a large group.
The food was good. Olive Garden has a reputation for good quality, straightforward Italian food and that's what we got. Nothing was stupendous, but nothing was poorly prepared. The portions are generous and even after sharing and swapping bites among family, we still had several bring leftovers back to our hotel.
Olive Garden wasn't inexpensive, but given the portion sizes and the above average service it was fair. I've often paid more for a meal not as good, but rarely paid less for one as good as this one was.
One has a certain expectation of Olive Garden, wherever in the US you might be. Cape Girardeau did...
Read moreWorst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Olive Garden is my wife’s favorite place to eat but we do not plan to return after our experience tonight. My wife ordered a smoothie. After waiting almost thirty minutes for it, it came to our table obviously not even able to drink. You could still see the huge ice chunks. It was not blended and my wife was unable to drink it through the straw. Our soup and salad came out. My wife requested no onions on the salad as she and our oldest daughter are allerigic. It was covered in onions. When she mentioned it to the waiter he brought more cheese to put on the salad and did not address the onion issue even after it being brought to his attention. A fresh salad should have been brought out with no onions. My wife was obviously frustrated at this point but she doesn’t like to cause a fuss. Our meal finally came out only to have a black hair sitting in our daughters cheese ravioli sticking out of the sauce. We didn’t eat but a few bites of our food. Boxed it up for the kids and left immediately. $90 completely wasted and a horrible experience. I hope this can...
