17 reviews 1.0 star rating 1/21/16 This is the complaint I sent to Popeye's Corporate office on 1/5/16 about our visit on 1/3/16. As of today I still have not heard back from Popeye's, so that shows me they don't care about the crappy food and service they provide. The complaint: My lady friend and I came in and ordered our meals. Her fish was not fresh and we both noticed our food tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. I used to manage a KFC and am well acquainted with how oil needs to be maintained in a chicken joint. I ate my chicken, but she could not eat her fish. When the young man who brought our order out brought out an order to another table she motioned him over and he said he would bring out some fresh fish. During our entire time there this young man acted as if any movement on his part was an extreme act of torture and any type of physical activity was beyond him. She waited for a few minutes and he had not brought out her fresh fish. I then had to use the restroom and guess who was coming out of the men's room when I came in??? YES! It was Mr. Slow Bones! I spent a good period of time in the restroom, having to first clean the filthy toilet which had urine covering the seat. So it was obvious Mr. Slow Bones was not in the men's room to clean it! When I came out my lady friend motioned me and she STILL had not been brought her fresh fish. This was at least 20 minutes after she had been promised it. I then went to the counter to inquire and Mr. Slow Bones slowly turned around and picked some fish out of the holding cabinet. It was obvious it had already been there, so there was no telling when it had came out of the fryer. And it was obvious he had made no effort to bring it to her table. By then she had me go back to the counter and get a box to take it with her. She was extremely angry by then, so it was good I went to the counter and not her. Read moreMost of the employees are friendly although some do not even greet you at the counter when ordering, they just stare at you without a word waiting for you to order. I find that rude. They won't allow you to change anything when ordering off the menu. You must order as described. If you want anything different, they make you order a la cart which is more expensive. For instance, they have a 3 piece & 5 piece dark meat combo meal. That is legs & thighs with a side & a drink. If you want all legs or all thighs, they won't let you. That is a change & changes aren't allowed. Ever. For any reason. So to get what you want, you must order a la cart which everyone knows will cost you more. That is an obvious play to get more money out of people. Regardless of what you order, this location never has everything ordered ready at the same time. They used to be managed well but lately, I'd say the past few months, it has changed and gone down hill. We are always waiting at least 10-15 min for the rest of someone's order. The food, once we get it all, is good. However, the poor customer service & constant wait times were starting to take their toll and we were beginning to have the discussion of do we really want to continue coming back here when I reached for a napkin that was in the condiments basket on the table but stopped short realizing there was a nasty bug crawling over the napkins. I'm sure you can figure out what type of bug this was that completely ruined my appetite. I called over the manager & pointed the critter out to her & her response was "Oh. Could you hand it to me?" What! Of course I said no, I wasn't touching it. I got up & let her do her job. She never apologized for the roach nor offered any compensation for our ruined appetites, nothing. Read moreOrdered an 8 PC family meal tonight with a side of cole slaw. Also added 2 Lg mash potatoes, Lg mac & cheese, and 4 Apple pies. I was told it would take 10 minutes to cook more chicken, which I was fine with that, and tried to offer me a raspberry pie cause they only had 3 apple pies ready or I could wait 5 minutes for an apple pie. I told them if I was waiting 10 minutes for chicken then they could make an apple pie in 5 minutes.
After ordering my food and paying, I was asked once again if I wanted a different pie than what i asked and paid for. They told me that the chicken was being freshly cooked and to pull up to the yellow line. At this time something told me they were going to screw my order up.
As I expected, they brought my order out that consisted of 8pcs of luke warm chicken, 1 Lg mash potatoes, 1 cole slaw, and 1 apple pie.
Luckily I haven't pulled away yet, got out in the pouring rain, knocked on the window to catch an employee's attention and addressed it with the random employee. Said employee goes in to state that I'm outside with a short order and another random employee comes out to address the issue instead of the manager. The 2nd random employee goes back in to get my food and returns 30 seconds later to inform me that they were out of mac & cheese. I had to settle with a different side than what I ordered.
My experience was not only inexcusable but very unprofessional of the manager for not addressing the situation herself and this is not the first time this has happened. I commend the young lady that handled the situation considering there were 5 employees standing around not doing anything. That was the worst experience I ever had here and it might have been the breaking point of me...
