We recently had the opportunity to dine at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill for the first time. Our reservation was promptly honored, and we were seated outside on the patio, which offered a lovely view of the pond and fountain. Although it took several minutes for our waiter, Trevor, to greet us, he was charismatic and seemed to be on top of his game. He explained the menu highlights and informed us that we could stay as long as we wanted. However, we did mention that we had a time constraint, as we had another engagement after dinner. I started with the signature Double Black Diamond martini, which was light and refreshing. Unfortunately, there was a delay in the arrival of our bottle of wine. We ordered the seared ahi tuna appetizer, which was pretty good, and the fresh baked bread was fluffy and warm. Our salads arrived a little later than expected, but we were delighted with the flavors and freshness. I had the house salad, and my husband had the Caesar. The pecans and jicama in the house salad were a pleasant difference, and the tangy cilantro lime dressing, recommended by Trevor, was excellent. Unfortunately, our evening took a turn for the worse. Despite arriving at 7:15 pm, we still had not received our entrees by 8:54 pm. Trevor disappeared for quite some time, and we were unable to inquire about the wait. We poured the rest of our wine, which was warm due to not having been given a chiller. At this point, we decided to ask for our entrees and desserts to be boxed up and taken to go. Trevor apologized and attributed the delay to the kitchen. However, it would have been appreciated if he had kept us informed about the status of our order. When we finally got to eat our dinners at home, they were okay. I had the salmon, and my husband had a steak. Unfortunately, his side dishes were incorrect, and the brûlée cheesecake was hardly "brûléed." For an expenditure of over $200, the experience was highly underwhelming. It felt like the kitchen had rushed together our order, which had been forgotten or lost, and pushed us out the door. No manager came to check on us, and we left disappointed and rushed to get to our next destination with cold, thrown-together entrees and desserts to go. We were excited to try Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, but our experience was disappointing, and we...
Read moreService was outstanding. Server very friendly and congenial. Atmosphere was extremely first class and at a premium level. Due to this, the remainder of our dining 🍽 suffered GREATLY!!!!!! My steak was delicious, and done to perfection, however it was far too small and overpriced for the size of the steak. In addition, there was no offer of any kind of trimmings like onions, mushrooms, steak sauce, A-1 sauce, or Worcester sauce for the steak. None of this added to a POSITIVE experience, particularly the side dish that I selected with my meal. The corn 🌽 side dish was HORRIBLE!!!!!!! FAR TOO MANY CONFLICTING INGREDIENTS THAT DON'T WORK WELL TOGETHER ON ONE'S PALETTE!!!!!! A BETTER APPROACH WOULD BE PLAIN CORN 🌽 WITH MELTED 🫠 BUTTER 🧈!!!!!!!!!! This seemed minor UNTIL my tortilla soup 🍲 arrived!!!!!!! THE SOUP 🍲 WAS HORRIBLE!!!!!! THE CHEESE 🧀 BROTH BASE WAS WATERY AND OVERALL TASTED HORRIBLY. THERE WAS VERY LITTLE CHICKEN IN THE SOUP 🍲, AND CHIP STRIPS WERE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN!!!!! GRANTED IT WAS ONLY A CUP OF SOUP 🍲, BUT REALLY!!!!!! IF YOU WANT REALLY OUTSTANDING CHEESE 🧀 TORTILLA CHICKEN SOUP GO TO CHILLI'S OR APPLEBEE'S!!!!! MORE SOUP 🍲 AT A BETTER PRICE POINT!!!!!! DEFINITELY NOT FIREBIRDS!!!!!!! My companion's salmon was salty 🧂 and not as palatable as her previous experiences since she hails from the Pacific coast!!!!!!! Time to work on your technique FIREBIRDS!!! The local facility chef 👨🍳 along with the corporate executive at the home office in the Carolinas, NEED to be FIRED!!!!!!!! IF THIS IS NUEVO CUSINE, YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO CULINARY ARTS SCHOOL!!!!!!! OUR APPETIZER OF ONION 🌰 RINGS WAS THE ONLY OTHER POSITIVE FACET OF THE MEAL!!!!!! THOSE WERE PERFECTLY FINE!!!!!! I had spoken to friends and others who have frequented this restaurant, and they TOO were HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE FOOD AND SAID THAT THEY 😒 WOULD NOT BE RETURNING!!!!!!!!!! Others have said that the seafood was overcooked and burnt along with other disappointments. As an overly luxurious overpriced wine 🍷 or liquor tasting bar 🍸 this place may be a great spot for the debt ridden transient Yuppies of Cranberry, and Seven Fields, but as a GOOD PLACE TO EAT GOOD FOOD IT IS NOT!!!!!!! SKIP THIS PLACE, THERE ARE BETTER PLACES TO GO TO!!!!!!! DON'T COME HERE TO EAT, GET...
Read moreWe ate here last evening and the poor quality of the food is still shocking to me. I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel like someone should know to be able to correct it in the future. There were 3 of us and we ordered two apps: the burrata and the ahi tuna. The burrata was nothing like it was supposed to be. It was super chunky and didn’t “melt” when cut into at all. I’m assuming it was either too cold or just poor quality, not sure. The ahi was dry and tasteless. Then we ordered two filet meals with lobster- mine was with the the tempura and my husbands wasn’t and our daughter had the salmon. Both filets were fine for the most part with the exception of a giant piece of connective tissue down the side that made part of it inedible. Also not sure why they were bacon wrapped? The bacon on those are never edible and looked foul. The lobster was where our #1 biggest issue came in. Both lobster tails were bitter beyond belief and extremely over cooked. You had to have a steak knife to just cut mine and it was like a solid piece of rubber 😕 I don’t think the poor quality of them helped either. My daughter got the most decent meal, though I tried her salmon and it was kinda tasteless and pretty dry as well. I’ll give credit to the “wins” of the meal: our drinks were great, the salad under the burrata was incredible (the dressing and tomatoes were so good), and the medley under the tuna was delicious as well. For $300 it definitely should’ve been better though. I could’ve gotten this meal at outback and enjoyed it far more 🥴 our service I won’t mention much about since our waitress was obviously very new but she tried her best and that counts the most! I think maybe it didn’t help that we came in towards the end of the evening? Not sure exactly if all the issues going on behind the scenes as I’m no expert, but hopefully everyone else gets a more...
