having lived in several different apartment communities, nothing beats The Haven. We relocated out of state or else I would still be living there. It’s the only apartment community that actually invests money into upkeep and improvements in the property - long before they’re “due” (such as adding another fire pit, remodeling the grill area, & community room). the landscaping is always kept up with seasonally. the dog DNA testing seemed extreme to us at first, but having that in place is so amazing. people actually pick up their dogs poop. everywhere else i’ve lived i’ve been scared to step in any grass. the pool is always clean, the gym is always clean. the office employees are so helpful, and Lori is an amazing property manager. any time i needed maintenance, they were quick and professional. the walking trail around cranberry woods is also such an amazing perk. this complex is the best value for your money anywhere in the pittsburgh region.
the only downsides i could think of are thin floors (though i think this is just a part of living in any apartment complex), and that there is a “clique” of gossipy neighbors, some who forget they live in an apartment complex, that comes with some noise factor. we were always considerate, but got a noise complaint (and i was confronted by said neighbor who told me that i walk really loudly lol) for simply existing in our apartment. when we first got our apartment, before even moving a box in, we were cleaning and the neighbor below us pounded on the ceiling, presumably to tell us to quiet down (it was the middle of the day). we often heard the people above us, but you have to expect that there won’t be perfect silence in an apartment complex, so they didn’t bother us at all - as they’re entitled to live and breathe in...
Read moreI stayed at the Haven for a year and my experience was very positive. If you're OK with the prices and with a possible increase in rent at the end of the lease, then this is a great place to live. About the apartment, heating and insulation are superb (never felt cold in the winter and didn't use AC in the summer), sound insulation is good enough (muffled sounds of dogs barking occasionally), and all the windows have window screens, so no issues with bugs. The appliances are also modern and stylish. The location is conveniently close to a lot of shopping malls and away from traffic and noise at the same time. The amenities include a fairly well-equipped gym, a nice coffee machine, a lounge, a pool and a dog park. If you live in building 1000, you can access the gym, coffee machine, and lounge without exiting the building, which is amazing. Though I didn't use the pool and dog park, plenty of other residents were enjoying them. There's also a small forest trail surrounding the property which is nice for a quick walk. The management and maintenance crew were very reasonable and helpful during my stay. I had no issues moving in or moving out, and the few maintenance issues I had were resolved the same day. At the end of my lease, I was offered several renewal options, the cheapest of which increased my rent by about $100, which is significant, but still less than what they charge now for a new resident there. I very much enjoyed my one year staying at the Haven and wish everyone...
Read moreManagement is disgraceful! They had us sublease to a difficult couple in the building that wanted us out before Christmas. We ended up having to move out 2 days before our wedding in the beginning of December. The next day I could not get my mail or anything from the building. Management did not communicate with us regarding turnover. Management then got rid of all of our personal belongings in our garage, including family heirlooms, family pictures, furniture( one of which was my great grandmothers that she crocheted the backing and pedal stool), tools, motocross bikes etc. When reaching out to Lori who works at Haven she told us “it wasn’t her problem and she doesn’t have time for this”. She also stated, “ you should have paid $7000 to break your lease 🤷🏼♀️ not my problem”. I would NOT recommend moving here as the management is unprofessional and inconsiderate! They do not care about the individuals living in the apartment or those moving out. All they care about is their bottom line! A simple phone call regarding turnover, property removal, etc. could be the difference between generations of memories wrongfully disposed ! DO NOT MOVE HERE.
I also see they are asking individuals within the community to do damage control as 16 new posts have been posted since mine referencing the staff and management. What you should have done was reach out to us personally and try your best to get back what you wrongfully discarded. I hope that people see through...
