Parents are in their 70s, tired of the quarantine. Being very cautious and having are own box of Clorox Wipes we agreed to a quick trip to Cripple Creek so they could get out a bit.. There were no rooms left at the Century casino where I expected to stay because...... well I'm a room snob and the reviews said it was the best. After two days here I can say I was pleasantly suprised. Yes, the rooms are super small, and a view?? Forget it, my parents had a wall view and my room faced the parking garage, but what's really important?? The room was super clean, beds were comfortable, and every interaction with every staff member was friendly and helpful. I didn't catch the housekeepers name, but when my dad complained of the mini fridge not being cold, she rushed into the room, pulled the mini fridge out from the wall and adjusted the temperature for him. 👍🏽 (its the little thing). Hallways are narrow, and its a tight space, but this is a mountain town and most to all the workers are local and I was very happy with the trip. I will note that, McGills, Midnight Rose and the Brass-Ass were all connected or right next to eachother. If you've never been here you wouldn't know, so when picking a room it appears its all in the general area verse other casinos that are a short walk away. Each time you enter a casino your temperature is taken and you are outfitted with a colored paper wristband. You must stay masked when walking about the hotel and casino, but can free yourself once you're seated at a machine. No Poker.. Security and staff may give you a slight nudge should you forget about your mask, but that was ok too. Machines were cleaned very regularly and noted as such. Eating like everywhere else is basically limited, but every casino had a small restaurant or two with the staples. Hamburger, Steak, ect.... machines were so,so, i won, lost, won, lost. This two day trip hit the spot and didn't break the bank. As far as the Midnight Rose, stay here, it was fine..treatment and cleanliness superceded everything this trip because of my...

I can't even begin to express how awful this entire experience was. To start, there was a salad buffet that was mostly empty, and what was available appeared to have been prepped at least a week before. Everything was old and tasted like garbage. There was a carving station that was never worked and I literally had to ask someone to come work it to get a dried out, well done piece of prime rib. When I asked if there was a more rare piece available the employee offered the solution of "dunking it in au jus". It tasted like dog food. Awful. They offered cold salmon, literally served on ice, as well as frozen crab legs. Their drawn butter was butter flavored oil, I'm sure of it. It was room temperature at best. They had the most disgusting mashed potatoes that I've ever eaten. I really don't lie how someone messes up mashed potatoes, but it left me wishing they were instant potatoes. They were that bad. We sat with about 10 plates on our table and our server had disappeared after bringing our drinks. I had to hunt her down to refill our drinks and she proceeded to ignore the mess on our table. There were 3 little dried out pastries left on the dessert station by the time we gave up on the food. One trip to the buffet I noticed that the plates were dirty. Not just a little dirty, but nasty. There was an employee standing right next to the plates and I mentioned it to him. He said oops and took one of the two dirtied plates to the kitchen. I once again had to hunt down the waitress to get our check. My husband wanted to just walk out on the check. I nearly choked when I saw it was $76. I told her that this was the worst dining experience I've ever had and she shrugged her shoulders and said "sorry" without so much a looking at me. She could not care less. To add insult to injury, that whole next day was spent in our hotel room sick as a dog and fighting over the bathroom because we had the runs so bad. This place ruined our "staycation". The health department should shut them down. Stay far far...
Read moreIf i could rate 0 stars I would. I booked two VIP suits. When I go to my room the bathroom was dirty. There were piss drops on the toilet seat that had been there long enough that i had to SCRUB to get it clean. ( I would have called and made them clean it but I needed to use the bathroom so I did it myself. I just let it go because I didn't want to ruin the evening. But when I found clothes left from the last guest, that was IT!!!! We (me and three other people) had to check out and leave at 6AM because I was so disgusted. What else was dirty? The bed? or maybe the tub I laid my naked body in. I am so disgusted, WHen I told the front desk All she was was "OH I'm sorry" so I called after I got home. I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor. The girl answering the phone is so rude!!!!!!! She transferred me to a voice mail. I called back just to ask her what the managers name is and if she is in today. she hung up on me. I called back she won't answer my calls. so I called from another number which she answered right away. I asked her why she keeps hanging up on me she said I was harassing her.. I asked how. I didn't cuss at her, or yell at her, or call her a name so how am I harassing her? This is the worst customer service i have ever experienced.
update I finally spoke with a manager......she said she talked to housekeeping and they admitted they didnt even clean the bathroom. don't stay at this NASTY place! I originally only called to let managment know what's going on with their staff. IF they don't know then they can't fix it right? But after the way I was treated my Marie on the phone and the manager flat out told me housekeeping admitted to not cleaning the bathroom because they were in a rush.......I decided to let...
