What started out as a good experience ended up turning sour about halfway through.

We arrived and it looked to be somewhat busy. We spotted an open tabletop for four which was cleaned and ready but were told the wait was going to be 25 to 30 minutes so they took down our number and we went and checked out a few shops down the street. Not a big deal. The time came and we got a text saying that we could be seated. Went back and they seated us at the same open table we saw when we came in. Okay. Again, maybe there were people ahead of us that canceled? This turned out to not be the case as we saw numerous groups come in while there were many open tables. Some people, the waitress at the front told to have a seat and others she took their numbers and told them it was going to be 25 or more minutes. There did not seem to be a rhyme or reason behind her methodology. This kind of left us with a bad vibe.

Anyway. We ordered some food. We opted to go with salmon since we figured it would be a lighter food and we wanted to do some more sightseeing around town and the surrounding areas. I ended up getting a salmon burger and my wife got a salmon fillet. Bless my poor wife. She always ends up trying her food before me and took a bite of her salmon which was grey and translucent. It looked like it had not only not been cooked, but had been left out for a bit. I dissected my burger and found that salmon to be exactly the same. The smell did not even seem right. We looked around at other tables and found the woman behind us to have a leftover salmon filet packed into a to-go container and it looked perfect: pink, solid color, and flaky. I don't know what we did wrong to get what we ended up with but it was awful.

We remained calm and pointed out the issue to the woman who was picking and choosing who could eat right away and who had to come back. She took our food and replaced it with menus. We decided to go as basic as we could so as to minimize the possibility of a repeat experience. We ended up getting burgers and fries instead and opting to have the cooked to medium. We normally like medium rare, but did not feel like risking it. Needless to say my wife's burger still came out medium rare. The burgers weren't necessarily bad, but they come on a bun which is piled with a literally cup of shredded, damp lettuce. After pulling much of that off, it was at least edible. The fries, something we thought they surely could get right, were almost like fried potato straws: thin and cooked to a near crunchy texture.

The worst part was the lady who was seating people quite literally told us that she wanted us to get our second order quickly because we had been there too long already. It didn't feel at all like she was saying she felt bad for us, but rather that we were taking up a table she could have kept empty for another 25 minutes as she turned guests away.

Honestly really upset with our experience. We get the kitchen being backed up and having to wait for food . What I don’t like is being lied to . My fiancé and I have been here a few times but this last experience on 01/01 was the worst. We arrived and were seated pretty quickly but told the kitchen was 45 min out making food . No problem. We ordered our food and while ordering my man changed his mind about what he wanted . I saw her go in and make a whole new ticket for the order with only his meal on it . Mind you I gave her mine and our child’s order before my fiancé changed his mind. Well then we wait about 40 minutes and ONLY his food came out . Weird especially since I gave her my order first. The nice lady who brought our meal was CONFUSED . She was thinking I didn’t even order and we were sharing or I wasn’t eating. She goes to check what happened and our original waitress comes over and says what happened was that it was separate ticket so mine would be out shortly .. shortly was 20 min later !! AFTER MY fiancé already finished his entire meal our daughter and I hadn’t even gotten ours yet. And I was not going to make him wait for me to eat because his food would’ve been cold and we had not ate ALL day this was our first meal . Mind you 20 minutes later !! My meal comes out and my burger was RAW. I mean completely raw. I know that when my fiancé changed his mind she deleted our whole ticket and placed his only then proceeded to give me an excuse instead of hey we accidentally lost your ticket but we are getting it fixed . I’m just pissed they couldn’t just be honest and I waited as long as I did . Our waitress also was not observant or anything. No refills barely checked on us. I had to get another waitresses attention to get my burger fixed and honestly at that point my appetite was already ruined from biting into a completely raw hamburger. Mind you that I’m pregnant and eating is not...

I literally tried to eat at this restaurant twice in one day unsuccessfully The first we attempted it they told us just sit wherever you like so we sat down and it took literally no less than 20 minutes before the waiter came over to us. I tried to order two things that I saw on the menu. They told me they didn’t have either avaliable , went to Saltgrass for lunch instead

Tried again later the evening again sat down for 20 minutes server never acknowledged me. I got up out of my chair, literally trying to get his attention somehow but in a nice mannered way went up to talk to the manager after 20 minutes the manager said being that no one set me down they didn’t know I was there , but that’s what the server told me to do just go and seat myself ,

Well after I talked to the manager they said they’re closing the kitchen and there’s no exceptions

I will NOT reccomend this restruant to anyone visiting cripple creek they do not like non locals coming in I see everyone there was a local

I have read other peoples reviews on different businesses in this cripple Creek town that all of the locals do not like out of towners they only like local people. It seems like they refused...
