I could not ask for a better weekend get away! From the moment Sura-Quay checked us in, to the moment we checked out she was right there if we needed anything. Whether it was suggestions of places to eat or things to do. I had my 2 kids with me and she made them feel welcome as well. She went beyond any expectations I had. This hotel is fantastic if you are looking for something with history and character. We wandered the hotel the first night just taking it all in. So much to look at and take in as there is so much history to this building! Yes, we believe in spirits and had some run in with them but nothing malice. If you are into that stuff, even if your not, this is definitely a place you should visit! We also splurged while we were there and all 4 of us did some sort of spa session. Kirstin was so fantastic! We all enjoyed the sessions we had. Including the kids! Talking to her about the history of the building as well was so much fun! I could talk to both these ladies all day! Then in the Tavern, we had Braely taking care of us. We are not drinkers but we went in there and she made us all root beer floats and even took care of me when I asked for more ice cream. I like lots of ice cream! lol... The kids decided Saturday night that they did not want to leave the hotel for dinner so we just ate what they had in the Tavern. And everything we had was awesome! Braely was just as nice and sweet as Sura-Quay and Kirstin! We definitely will be coming back and experiencing this place again! I want to thank you all for making our weekend so fun and we barely...

We’ve stayed at this place about five times, with our last visit being in December 2023 to see the Ice Castles, which was a highlight. We were really excited to return to the HSN , but this time was a completely different experience.

We had the best room in the building, which included a sunroom, but unfortunately, it wasn’t clean. We found an old pill bottle, some Vaseline, debris, and dust bunnies under the bed. It was really disappointing.

The guy checking us in was unprofessional and had a serious "I don't care" attitude. The check-in gas a cool old bank cage, but instead of being welcoming, he lectured us about the no-smoking policy (even though we don’t smoke). He also rudely told the guests behind us to "get over here so I don’t have to say it twice." It was awkward and uncomfortable, especially when he seemed unhappy in his job and beyond.,

The continental breakfast was held in a freezing cold room, and all the prepackaged food had expired. The breakfast itself was more suited to a 2-star motel, not what you’d expect from a place like this. Even the snack items in our room were all past their expiration dates.

To top it off, when we arrived, I had to shovel a path from our car to the entrance, including the stairs and ramp, just to be able to drag our suitcase inside. I mentioned it to the guy checking us in, and he just shrugged it off like it was no big deal.

I sincerely hope this place has new ownership and management because our experience was a complete disaster. After that, we won’t be...

We had such a lovely and memorable vacation weekend in Cripple Creek, and it was all thanks to the incredible hospitality of the owners and staff at the Hotel St. Nicholas. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The hotel is a beautiful blend of history and comfort—each room thoughtfully renovated to reflect the charm of its past while offering all the modern touches you need for a relaxing stay. The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet, which made it the perfect place for us to unwind, read, and truly relax. The owners were not only gracious hosts but genuinely kind people who went out of their way to make sure our stay was special. Their warmth and attention to detail created an experience we won’t forget. Thank you for giving us such a peaceful, restorative weekend. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

If you're looking for a place to stay with some history, this is it! My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay at the Hotel St. Nicholas. We reserved the infamous room #11 hoping to experience some of its past occupants. Although we didn't have any personal experiences worth making note of, we really enjoyed our stay. The gentleman working the check in counter, I apologize for not getting his name, was very friendly and took some time to give us a quick tour detailing the Hotel's history. We visited the boiler room tavern before heading off to bed where the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming - the bartender was very friendly, and the drinks were GREAT! 5/5, we'd recommend!

First things first, this review is not for the hotel, but for "The Boiler Room", which is the charming bar in the basement. Of all the watering holes I visited this one was by far the most interesting. It's a cozy, intimate, dimly lit affair that just oozes charm. A refreshing change of pace from the noise and homogeny of the casinos on "the strip". Zach is probably the best kept bartender secret in Cripple Creek. His drinks are unique and his humor and cheerful demeanor kept us entertained. P.S. Please get ginger beer 😁
