Chamonix Café — Restaurant in Cripple Creek

Unfortunately I tried to get a coffee at the coffee bar in the hotel lobby. The man working there was very under skilled to be working on his own. I ordered my oat milk latte and two pastries at 8:36. At 9:10 I was given the wrong drink and the employee had no clue what a chocolate croissant looked like and was asking me to point it out to him in his back case that I couldn't see. There were at least 5 other people that had to wait over 20 minutes each for their drinks. I was served a drink with whole milk, assumed it was the drink i had ordered and took a sip. I instantly got hives in my mouth as I am allergic to dairy. When i brought the drink back to him I noticed that the sticker was a different drink order than what I had placed. I assume he either made the wrong drink or gave me someone else's but this mistake ruined my morning. As I am ALLERGIC not intolerant to the dairy I had to take some of my medication to ease the hives in my mouth from the drink of whole milk while waiting for the correct drink to be made. My husband and I went to Cripple creek for. Mother’s day. We walked off street to eat lunch. They said they had a breakfast buffet so we said ok. We were shocked when we got the bill. $277 plus. We had to pay a mandatory 20% tip. $47 plus. And the brunch with breakfast item were not that good. The bread under eggs benedict was so hard u couldn’t cut it with knife snd eggs were old and gummy. We visit this coffee shop frequently. Best in Teller County! Love the chai and the white chocolate mocha! Absolutely amazing pastries...... seriously the best we've ever had. You must try the cinnamon roll and the chocolate brioche. And can't leave the baristas out...their service...
