The restaurant was right on the beach. The view and the service were amazing. It was weird though. We were there from 6:00 to 7:30 on a Saturday night and from 6:00 to 7:00 we were the only ones there. Great for us but not so good for the restaurant. We sat on the patio outside and all we could see was sand and water. It was beautiful. Our server was so gracious and helpful and caring. He was wonderful. We ordered the bread appetizer and all agreed that that may have been the best part of the meal. We placed our orders for Shrimp and Grits, Osso Bucco and two Strip Steaks. The first two orders came out perfect and were beautifully plated. The two steaks unfortunately were ordered medium rare and medium and both came out brown and dry. They were returned as they were way off what was ordered. The server and the restaurant both graciously accepted the return, understood and said they would prepare new meals. While they took a while, which I guess is good since it meant they were making new steaks, the second dinners of steaks were much better than the first. We don't like to complain, but these were well overcooked. Everyone understood, didn't make us feel bad and worked to make things right. Thank you for that. I do not understand why there was no one else there. Good for us but not for the restaurant. I wonder if it was because there were so few reviews. I had a hard time finding many. The patio is truly beautiful and everyone we dealt with at the restaurant was incredibly nice. I highly recommend this restaurant for the view, the service and the food (which was not quite perfect, but still very good.) It would be a shame for them not to make it. All of us really enjoyed our evening. We were worried about sitting outside since it was very hot during the day, but by 6:00, the sun was behind the building, there was a nice breeze and we were all very comfortable. Please try them so that they can stay in business. ...

We went to celebrate our 6th anniversary in this restaurant. It was Thursday evening at almost no people in there but we booked our table ahead of time to be sure. The view and atmosphere is very nice as it is right next to the ocean. I also loved our server from Jamaica. I ordered salmon risotto which was very delicious. We also ordered the bread appetizer. A place like this should maybe have this as an added bonus to start with. We then looked at the deserts as well but nothing really peaked our interest as we wanted something really chocolate based and they did not have anything with only chocolate base. There was a lemon cake, coconut rice pudding, peanut cake, banana bread pudding etc. The surprise came that we were then charged a "forced 20 %" gratuity in the end. When my husband commented about that to the host lady and she took it very seriously and actually got us a little anniversary cake as a gift. Even though we did not think of returning because of the forced gratuity - the cake gift was a nice touch and we may consider returning in the future. The whole hotel lobby experience was also very special. I feel very attracted to the mermaid theme and there were very special pictures of water and mermaids. We parked in the public parking and walked a bit to the restaurant but you can also valet park in the hotel. You can then validate your parking...

We had the pleasure of celebrating Easter Sunday at The Abalone, and it was an experience we'll never forget! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like family. The service was impeccable, with a special shoutout to our server, Tanisha. She was not only professional but also warm and personable, making our meal even more enjoyable.

The Easter brunch was absolutely amazing! The variety of dishes was impressive—there was something for everyone, from classic breakfast favorites to creative new options. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. And the prices? Unbelievably reasonable for the quality and quantity of food offered. We felt like we got incredible value for our money.

But what really stole the show was the dessert station. It was out of this world—so many decadent options that we couldn't stop talking about! From indulgent cakes to perfectly crafted pastries, it was the sweet ending we never wanted to end.

Overall, we had a fantastic time and can’t wait to return. If you're looking for a wonderful dining experience in Daytona Beach, I highly recommend The Abalone. Huge thanks to Tanisha and the entire team for making our Easter brunch...

My husband and were celebrating our anniversary and this was the restaurant in the host hotel. We decided to give it a try and it was absolutely amazing. Izzy was our server and she was absolutely phenomenal. We had a theme that we were going with and I asked her for a drink request and she made it as close as possible, but it was absolutely terrific. Nevertheless, the food was incredible. My husband had the steak and fries and I had the salmon plate. To cap it off we actually shared an elevator ride with the executive chef who was very nice and very welcoming. We didn’t get his name, but he was absolutely amazing. The whole experience was amazing and we’re not from Florida at all so I would highly recommend anyone who’s stopping by this area to stop in this restaurant even if you’re not staying in the hotel, it was truly a good experience.

Tried it twice now and I really want to like it (because I like this hotel). Food is beautifully presented and consistently terrible. Lobster dry, tough, way overseasoned, while the risotto is undercooked (crunchy, actually). Prior meal had terrible, fishy salmon and overseas ones filet. Service was poor and no manager could be found (40 minute search apparently, 2 guests in the restaurant). Bummer, as it's a nice location and feel.
