Marble Slab Creamery — Restaurant in Destin

Extremely disappointed!! Myself, my son and his girlfriend came in based on Google star rating (bypassed Shake’s that we love just to try something new) and we were the only customers in the store when we arrived. The young boy that eventually spoke to us acted like he was miserable. Didn’t speak other than to ask what my son’s girlfriend wanted. The other adult (manager maybe?) was making waffle cones with his air pods in his ears and never acknowledged us in order to take our additional orders and speed things up a little. The young guy making the first shake on our order was very slow and unenthusiastic and when he got to my son’s order, he had to stop and wash the blender before starting his shake. Again, no urgency at all. Then enters another lady, then 3 other girls. When the young man sighed very deeply and obviously disgusted that more customers were coming in, I told my son and his gf to just get their order and I would be in the car waiting. I was not waiting any longer for the other gentleman to ask if he could help me or for the young man to put a little “pep in his step” in speeding up our lengthy visit for 2 shakes that ended up costing a whopping $27!!! Yes! 2 shakes that were $27 (in your average clear solo cup). As my son was leaving, the girls in line behind him asked if they could sample a flavor and they were given a shrug and an “I guess” reply. Final review, rude and slow customer service (in already trying times for many businesses ) and ridiculously overpriced for mediocre shakes. Skip the trip and go to Shake’s instead! The line is...

Update, 17 Aug 2022. Still no response from owner. So glad the YARD MILKSHAKE BAR is in Destin (best icecream, shakes, and service in Destin). Hopefully when Marble Slab Destin goes out of business they will realize their huge mistake that customers talk to each other and definitely stick together.

Still no response fro owner/manager. The seems to cherry pick replies for reviews instead of facing his critics. I would like to know where my money is that he stole from me and my family!!

Not at all happy with the Manager/owner, behind the register this evening for basically calling me a liar. He gave me change for a $10 when I gave him a $20 and was VERY rude to me. This was our 3rd visit in 3 days and the employees are very nice, however this individual was far from a people person.

When I told him I gave him a 20, he stated I gave him 10 and became VERY RUDE stating he was going to check the camera. I told him to please check it and if I was wrong I would gladly apologize and he said "you better", then called me a few choice words. He was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I don't normally carry cash, however I went to the ATM, drew out $100 in 20 dollar Bill's, so I knew for sure I gave him a 20.

I encourage this individual to check the camera so he can clearly see I gave him a 20 and not a 10.

This place left a really bad taste in my mouth when I went and it's only gotten worse because I left a note to corporate about my experience (since the store would not answer the phone) and I have heard absolutely nothing back from the manager.

First of all, the store was incredibly messy. I understand that in an ice cream store it gets dirty easily but there was ice cream smeared all over the floor and they should be on top of that. The staff moved at a snail's pace and if there was an opposite of moving with a purpose that was them. The line could've been moving much quicker if they seemed to care at all. None of them were very friendly either, not greeting anyone with a smile. When I asked for a lid I got attitude, everyone was just generally on the rude side.

Then, when I tried to use a coupon (because it was my birthday, and I could've gone absolutely anywhere and gotten a dessert for free but I chose this place) I was told by the girl that no one working there knew how to honor coupons. And she just stared at me blankly.... I asked if there was anything that could be done and she said no and continued to just stare at me blankly. It was BIZARRE! What manager leaves their store staffed with no one that knows what they are doing?!

There are too many ice cream places out there to go somewhere that will give you an experience like this. Its a shame because we love their ice cream, but we will...
