Debated sharing this for MONTHS but I can’t be the only one whose noticed this… We used to eat here weekly and the dough was soft and they stuffed the empanadas super full. Literally couldn’t get enough. We even debated having them cater our wedding. But over the last year, especially since opening their new location, the recipe is completely different. The crust is hard and not as flavorful, they don’t stuff the filling anymore… we tried the keystone location because we hoped maybe the original owners went to work the new store, but we were still disappointed. I guess they set the standard really high and now have dropped the bar… Sadly we don’t stop here anymore… wish they would bring the original owners and recipe back.
Edit to say since they want to come back with “have A nice life”, we have been eating there since you all opened. I worked across the street and sometimes ate there 2 times a week. We told everyone about you and support the hell out of you. Maybe instead of bypassing someone’s comment about your quality you should talk to your employees and see what’s going on and maybe ask other locals because I’ve heard this expressed from others besides myself. But it’s okay, we won’t waste our money here anymore and we wish...
Read moreUpdate: 2021 Dropped in for our to-go order (can't leave for home without them) of empanadas. Got a variety except, the chicken, which was still in the oven. Seeing my disappointment and how much I really wanted that as well, they asked if I was willing to have some frozen and just bake at home. Yes!!!!! Came back with my assortment of empanadas AND this time also the Tres Leches cake and slices of this layered cake/pastry with nuts and these are now added to my cravings! So, it's empanadas and those cakes that are now making a trip up the mountains worth it!
1st visit: 2019 Mid-afternoon, weekday visit and we were the only ones there. Noticed that some of the selections were already out. Got (take-out) a variety: Spanish Chorizo Argentinian Chorizo Ham and Cheese Beef Chicken and another flavor. Also got a piece of their sweet slice.
Filling was good, they definitely didn't skimp on it.
Noticed that the also offer meals.
There is another Empanada store here in Denver and I find the Argento's...
Read moreWe ordered the BBQ Chicken, Caprese (not very good), steak argento, mushroom, corn and finally the chorizo which was what the cashier recommended and was indeed the best one. I’ve experienced empanadas in Argentina and Uruguay and although these empanadas aren’t exactly traditional compared to what I tried before, I was still quite happy with the food and service here! I even ordered more to go. My BF was upset that the empanadas were dry but I understand that they're prebaked and served warm within seconds of ordering and would be soggy if they had too much sauce so obviously that's what the self serve sauces on the side are for. Also the Mini Maizena cookies are super delicious and authentic! The dining room is clean and modern, they have outdoor dining (at least in the summer), plenty of parking, it’s right off the interstate and is unique to the area. Definitely...
