If I could give Zero stars I would. I only stayed here because I was traveling for work, it was getting late, a storm was heading my direction that had done a lot of damage in Chicago where I was heading. They were the first hotel with availability so I took it. It looked nice on Hotels.com. I arrived after initially driving right past it because the sign out front said Daylight Inn not Hotel O. I was immediately suspicious. I went inside the office area, which was dirty and had random stuff everywhere, the clerk was dressed like he was going to a bar, and no professionalism whatsoever. I confirmed I was in the right place and given no explanation why it had a different name. My instincts told me to leave right then and there, but it was after 10pm and I figured how bad can it be. Should have trusted my instincts. I started to walk towards my room and I noticed there were people everywhere in the parking lot, by the doors, sitting in cars, and they all looked like degenerates. The parking lot was filthy, trash everywhere, potholes, run-down non operable vehicles.....etc I get inside my room and it was nothing like the pictures online. There were cracks in the wall. Burn holes from cigarettes in the bed sheets and some furniture. The A/C didn't work, the power button turned it on but it immediately shut off. Tried to open the window but it didn't open, didn't matter anyway, there were a couple bums outside the window so I wouldn't have been able to keep it open anyway, Luckily it wasn't that warm outside that night. Opened the refrigerator and of course it didn't work either, also smelled disgusting inside it. The floors hadn't been swept or vacuumed, it was a no-smoking room but there were ashes on the floor. The towel were horrible, would scratch the paint on my car if I tried to dry it with it. All in all, place was shady, gross, and not as advertised online. At the same time it was cheap and I've stayed in nicer places for the same price, but I got some sleep, my car didn't get stolen overnight, and I made it home the next day. I did call hotels.com and they refunded me...
Read moreSo my trip was a 3 hour drive and we booked through Expedia to reserve a spot and pay at the hotel, as we arrived the indoor lobby was a mess and run down, they had a paper sign up on the wall stating "please excuse our mess, we are under construction" from what I heard that has been there for quite awhile. As we checked in and started to head to the room I reserved (a premium king size bed room), instead I was given 2 run down queen size beds, definitely not premium! I don't even know where to begin with the issues of the room, there was dirt, mold, and bugs. Basically any hotel nightmare you can think of this room had! Mold underneath the A/C unit, the cabinet where the TV sits had white stains that I didn't even want to find out what it was, there was leftover food in the mini fridge as well as it wasn't even cleaned out. Missing panels of flooring in the bathroom and the bathtub was dented in and was still wet. Overall DISGUSTING! Needless to say I was not staying in that room, I had taken pictures of the mess to address my concerns with the front clerk, they didn't make any accommodations or tried to make things better. I tried to dispute a refund and take my business elsewhere, they didn't want to refund me for my pay as well as the deposit, and explained that I should handle it with Expedia, as I dispute my issue with Expedia they explained that the hotel had to dispute it me since I have paid at the hotel and not through Expedia. I went back to dispute the same issue with the hotel and they still didn't want to refund me, so I stayed until they gave me my refund, the clerk called the police, as the officer showed up and gotten a bit more information of the situation, the officer sided with me and explained that the charges should be refunded, after waiting about 3 days to dispute the issue. They finally refunded it and overall had a nightmare of a experience with the team there and the hotel, would never recommend to a family/ friend to stay...
