El Camino Real #3 — Restaurant in Elkhart

Update from previous five star review because:

Arrived with two out of state friends on Thursday evening and seated in the older gentleman's section. On all previous occasions we have had the younger gentleman with the glasses and he was great.

This visit - not so good. I rarely eat corn and I wanted to try something that had a corn something on the menu but it didn't see the rice. I asked the man if I could get rice instead of the corn item. Rather than say it could be an upcharge or I could order it on the side he just rudely and flatly said No. I was a bit taken aback but chose another dinner rather than question his attitude because I knew my friends were hungry.

I thought the food was taking longer than normal and the restaurant wasn't as busy. When the food finally arrived it was barely warm. I did not say anything to the waiter because my friends didn't mention it. However, on the way home after I said something my friend said that theirs food was on the cool side, as well.

I don't know if this older weight person wasn't feeling well or if this is his usual demeanor but my friend picked up the tab and personally I hope he didn't give him very much of a tip because he wasn't worth anything with his attitude.

I might come back one more time because my son and I really do like the food we've been served before when we got it hot and the way the other waiter will try to accommodate us, but I'm willing to bet that dropping down from 5:00 to a 4.2 probably has to do with the older man and his attitude.

If I come again and I get this older guy and he is the same I will never step foot in the restaurants again. Customers are paying for good service and hot food and he acted like he was doing us a favor even to wait on us. Most people that does not fly with most people they need to retire him.

Previously: We've been there the last two Saturdays and love the variety of their menu, the fast service, and they perfectly seasoned food. The menu is such that anyone no matter what kind of a diet you prefer whether you're a meat eater a beefeater a fish eater chicken or pork or a vegetarian or vegan you'll confine something on the menu. No one had a complaint and we all highly recommend El Camino real 3. on county road...

We have been going to this restaurant for about 2 years. Always had great food, service, and felt welcome. Last night was not the case. The manager I’m assuming didn’t acknowledge us but that’s ok, then the lady grabbing menu’s reluctantly to seat us with a frown on her face said nothing after I said hola. Ok maybe a bad day but then another new waitress didn’t smile or anything and acted annoyed when I was trying to order the same thing I always do. They sat us in a corner so we were looking around and the manager literally came to our table and said r u guys ok, I said yes, she says ok because you kept looking at us and just walked away, no smile at all. Chips were stale, I asked for a few fresh ones and the manager/female owner seemed annoyed with that too. Rest of food was terrible. I’m disappointed because when the other owner was there, we never had a bad experience. Never going back. Kind of felt like she was trying to intimidate us in a way. Would’ve just left but was hoping the food would be good as usual. Enchilada sauce was pasty. Just a really bad experience overall. We are at this restaurant last night. For starters, we were seated with a television behind us with a Hispanic opera blaring behind us the whole time. No one there was even watching it. The people there weren't friendly at all, neither the waiter nor the man taking our payment. To finish this off, I ordered a dinner with three enchiladas and I told the waiter that I wanted all beef and he repeated it back to me. I only ate one there, it was beef, so you can imagine the surprise and disappointment when I opened it today and the other two enchiladas were chicken and cheese. The only reason I even rated two stars is that the food is reasonably priced (too bad it wasn't correct), and I loved the salsa. Needless to say, we won't be...
