Located in the West Acres Mall in Fargo, Minn Dak sports tons of local business efforts. As someone who grew up in North & South Dakota, I never even realized there were that many brands that come from our homeland, but it was so fun to see and definitely made me feel a sense of pride over how far we’ve come.
You can get some pretty classic tacky tourist stuff, like “uffda”, “doncha know”, “ope”, or other funny Minn- Dak sayings on magnets and stickers. There’s lots of college gear from UND or NDSU to sport and decorate with.
But the food products are by far the spotlight here- the newly famed and ND originated Dot’s pretzels are of course sold here. There’s locally based chocolates, cheese, jams, honey, hot sauce, peanut butter, popcorn and so much more. You can spend a lot of time just walking around the store and seeing all there is to offer. This was the perfect place to buy my FL friend some homegrown ND stuff. The young man working was also super helpful when I asked his opinion on what to get my friend (should have gotten his name!).
