I visited Flagstaff to explore the Grand Canyon for my birthday and looked for places to go to that had vegetarian and carnivore options for my husband. This restaurant was on top of my list because of all the options I saw on the menu for us both. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we received what I feel was a curt welcome and did not feel a lot of warmth from the waitress/host (not sure if she was the waitress because she didn’t introduce herself); she just told us we could sit anywhere. We proceeded to sit and wait for the waitress once she saw where we were seated. I mean there was no one really in there and they were not busy. The same lady that told us to sit anywhere proceeded to go to another table with guests that came in shortly after us. We believe she may have known this family that came in after us (she hugged one of the guests), but before you knew it, they had an entire full- blown conversation as my husband and I patiently waited. After a while, my husband and I understood that we would not receive the best service after being in there for 5 minutes or so and not being acknowledged. Not even an “I will be with you shortly; need any water ?” Luckily, I had a second option for dinner right down the street (lumberyard brewery … highly recommend it instead!), so by that point, my husband and I could pursue having dinner elsewhere. When my husband and I proceeded to leave the vicinity, we walked right past the same waitress/host who greeted us, and she completely ignored us and provided no acknowledgment that customers were going. It was very telling as my husband and I are both African American, and I feel the waitress was setting a tone of the service/ treatment we would have received if we had stayed. Disappointing for sure, and I hope this establishment gets heavy training on how to greet/treat ALL customers equally. And this restaurant does not represent all the other kinds of people I met in Flagstaff during our stay! Good luck to...
Read moreMy other half went to Falstaff for a "guys weekend" and wanted to take our 13 yr old back, to take him to slide rock, so we went to Falstaff as a family.. .. It is a great place! They boys (13 & 12) loved it as well. My husband loved your place and wanted to take us there for lunch. It's a fun, relaxing space and the service was outstanding! 👍 👍 There are flatscreens to watch and tons of arcade & table games for every family member to enjoy as well. You have a great atmosohere and we really enjoyed it.. The only problem I had was the price! (Middle of the day.. Not peak hours) I got the 'Rueben Burger'.. Which was $11.00 & DID NOT come with fires..or any side. I had to pay another $4.00 for a side of fries. Same for the rest of my family.. Everybody got an "entree" that should have come with a side (like 99.9% of all restaurants in the whole world for all time, ever) , but did not.. I guess I could understand this, if it was a "fancy" restaurant in an upscale area.. But it's an Irish pub on a regular street. It's a great pub, a great street.. and I love the place.. And I would/will go back.. But $15.00 for a Rueben & some fries.. W.O.W. Plus, of course, the drinks were seperate.. .. .. So.. Including tip.. It cost a family of 4.. Approx, $85+.. to have lunch there.. We love the place.. But it's not somewhere a person.. Or family could eat at often..unless money was no object.. FRIES. SHOULD. BE. INCLUDED. Fries are cheap. Hike all your burgers/sandwiches/other, etc... Hike the price $1.25-$1.75 each.. Drop fry price completely..(Because it should be included) $4 for a side of fries that probably cost you well under $1 per serving.. Is highway robbery! (servings was very small, a $4 fry..was a very small hand full).. 😱😱😱 Your place is great, all of you are great.. But lunch at an Irish pub should not run a single person $25+.. In the middle of the day.. FRIES. SHOULD. BE....
Read moreIf you’re looking for a dish that perfectly balances comfort, flavor, and a little bit of indulgence, the Irish Nachos at Collins Irish Pub & Grill in downtown Flagstaff are an absolute must-try! I had the pleasure of enjoying this mouthwatering creation with a colleague over lunch, and it quickly became one of my favorite go-to dishes in the area.
The base of the Irish Nachos is made up of crispy, homemade potato chips that have just the right amount of crunch. These are far superior to any bagged chips—fresh, warm, and thick enough to hold up the toppings without getting soggy. And speaking of toppings, they do not skimp on flavor here. Generous helpings of crumbled applewood bacon, fresh green onions, and juicy Roma tomatoes are spread evenly over the chips, all tied together with a blanket of gooey, melted cheese.
What makes this dish stand out is the harmony of flavors and textures. The richness of the cheese pairs perfectly with the smokiness of the bacon, while the tomatoes and green onions provide a fresh contrast. Each bite was a delightful combination of crispy, savory, and slightly sweet. You also get a side of sour cream for dipping, which adds a nice creamy finish to the already flavor-packed dish.
Collins Irish Pub & Grill itself adds to the whole experience. The atmosphere at lunchtime was laid-back and comfortable, perfect for catching up with a friend or colleague. We sat at a cozy booth by the window, which gave us a nice view of the downtown area as people passed by. It was a great spot to enjoy good food and conversation without...
