T Bar At Steamboat — Restaurant in Four Corners States

NEVER GO HERE. Paid $35 to park in the lot next to this bar for skiing, no visible signage saying it is restaurant parking only, and nobody said anything about it when we parked. When we got back to the car after the morning we went to cook some hotdogs on our tailgate before leaving. The staff came and informed us that because it is a restaurant parking area technically we can’t do that there. While disappointed we began to pack up. In the 5 minute period of us packing up our chairs and small camp stove, while waiting for the hot pan to cool, the staff sent out 3 more people to tell us we had to leave right now. One of them came up, started screaming in our face inches away at full volume, swearing at us repeatedly. Eventually told us we had to leave the lot “or else”, in an outright threatening manner…. We stopped here for lunch assuming it was a convenient place to eat during our day on the mountain. We sat outside and the server took our food order pretty quick, but then we never saw her again for 30 minutes. At the 45 minute mark she stopped by to confirm that we were doing ok... at which point I reminded her that we had been waiting an extremely long time, to which she responded that she saw our ticket towards the front in the kitchen. No apology or acknowledgement of the long wait. All the other tables nearby also inquired about where their food was to the same nonchalant response from the server. They just didn't seem to care at all. What was even stranger was that they had plenty of staff covering the tables for drink orders clearly had a full kitchen staffed inside. CLOSE YOUR TABS BEFORE YOU LEAVE.. We come once a year and always stop here. Last year, we noticed our tab left open was very high but we assumed some pitchers got put on the wrong tab. It happens. We didn’t close it because the line was insane and assumed 20 percent would be added to the $200+ tab. However it was significantly higher than that…

This year, my credit card alerted me that my tab was charged 75 percent for leaving it open (again because the line is huge). If this is your policy- so be it I guess. However, my suspicion is that staff are taking liberties on your credit card tabs at the end of the day. Just close your tabs out every time you go for a drink if this is how they operate to...
