This is a nice little condo. The price is especially great and probably can't be beat. IMO, it's perfect for 2 people. I think it would be crowded for 4 (especially if you plan to prepare food here). The kitchen is stocked adequately, not abundantly (I ran across a few deficiencies in my week there, but was always able to make it work). The kitchen is very small (as most condo kitchens are) with almost no counter space. The bed in this unit is very comfortable and the room has very good room darkening shades (yay! a huge deal for me). The view is OK; nothing fabulous. There were several things that frustrated me as it seems management wasn't paying much attention (hair dryer didn't work, sound bar on TV didn't work, right window shade wouldn't raise which can be a big deal if you need to cool of the room - no AC). I probably would have rated a 3 if it wasn't so cheap. The building has lockers on the bottom floor for your gear and an elevator so being on the 3rd floor isn't an issue. ||||If you are skiing at Keystone for the entire stay (or if you have a car) this is a great location as you can easily walk to the Peru lift from here. However, If you plan to ski at Breck or A-basin some and you don't have your own transportation, you'll have to take two separate shuttles to get there (a Keystone shuttle down to the River Run area then the Summit Stage to the other resort). It can definitely be done, but it takes time and will take longer vs. staying in the River Run area. If you stay here and plan on visiting other resorts a lot I would definitely recommend renting a car. It takes pretty much a full hour to ride the two buses to Breck and it only runs once per hour. Time spent waiting on the bus can eat your day up more quickly than you'd think. If you only plan to ski at Keystone the attractiveness of using Slopeside goes up a lot. It can still take several minutes to get down to the River Run area though which is where almost all the shops and...
Read moreThe property is across the bus lane from Mountain House facilities. The Peru lift is easy to walk too, while the beginner area is just as close. However, this years lack of snow had the area closed and we have a 7yo we were going to teach to ski. So we had to take the bus over to River Run and the gondola. The green bus stop, which is not that far was ok, however for not being use to the altitude and walking in ski gear made the trudge thru the village to the gondola long/tiring/slow. The 2nd day there the Peru lift opened. The 3rd day my 7yo was good enough to take the Peru lift, which made Slopeside an excellent choice to ski out of.... Now no boots are allowed to be worn in the resort, you heard that right. So our process was to wear our shoes and one person took the boots to the truck (in the heated underground garage) while the other collected the skis from the ski locker on the 1st floor. Then we met at the truck put on boot and exited out the side of the building and walked over to the Peru lift. It may sound worse than it really was but after getting into a routine was not too bad. ||The hot tubs were excellent until they were shut down by the Summit Co. red alert and we were able to go to a couple restaurants until these were shut down as well. Having driven, we brought food to cook and the outdoor grills by the hot tubs/deck/fireplace were convenient. Overall a very satisfying trip. BTW, we are going again in March 2021 and staying in the same condo unit. The Mountain House area is a much quieter and calmer area than the River Run area. However, Both areas have their own excellent qualities. Slopeside is one of the closet condos to a lift without...
Read moreWe booked online through SummitCove Lodging and they were easy to deal with. We picked up our card keys from their office nearby. Parking for Slopeside condos was underground with an automated garage door to keep the weather out. Card keys were required to enter the parking area, buildings, and of course the individual units, so it felt very secure. There were ski lockers in the hall outside our unit 2731 which was next to an outside door. A few stairs led from there to the outdoor walkway toward the Peru Lift in the Mountain House area of the resort. The condo is not literally ski-in/ski-out but is still very convenient, less than a 5 minute walk to the ski rental shop and Peru lift. Our unit was a good size, clean, well decorated, with the amenities we wanted: queen bed, sofa bed, kitchenette, TV, large vanity, hair dryer. We were extremely pleased with our rental. It was also a short walk to the pickup spot for the free buses that take you to other parts of the resort such as River Run where there are shops and...
