DETAILED REVIEW FROM AN INTERNATIONAL SKIER
SUMMARY - Great location, good size rooms, but several things are not what you expect. The staff are very helpful when available. I feel obliged to prepare visitors what to expect, but you can definitely make your holiday work here. My advice is to consider 3Peaks a a bit like School Camp rather than the Hilton Hotel. You have to help yourself sometimes to sort things out.
THE GOOD -
THE NOT QUITE AS EXPECTED -
Booked a room in advance of a trip we planned in August 2021. Plans were to stay 4 nights and take day trips in the region to experience and view the sights. Upon making the reservation I spoke with a gentleman and made said reservations. I called him back a short time later to ask if they had any military discounts which he said he did and would make adjustments when I checked in. When we arrived it was a contactless check in. I called the number at the desk and the manager came down shortly to supposedly apply my discount back to my card. After we had already checked in he preceeded to tell me that they had no hot water but it would be fix before evening. We checked in at 3pm. After returning from shopping around 6 pm we still had no hot water. As I was standing in the lobby waiting on someone to talk to about the situation the boiler repairman walked by and I ask if the hot water was fixed. Assuming I worked there he told me that there was gonna be some major repairs needed and started showing me pictures of the boiler and it's problems. I told him I was a guest and was waiting on someone to fill me in on the situation. In the meantime another guest who had stayed there for several day came to the desk as well and started informing me about the owner and his empty promises he would make. This would explain why there was only about 7 rooms rented for that night. I called the number at the desk again and this time got to speak with the owner. He told me that the parts store was closed and he had 3 of the best boiler guys in Colorado working on it and would have the hot water fixed by 8 the next morning. He began to offer free nights for my next visit for the inconvenience. I told him I would prefer to find different lodging and asked for a refund. He said he would do that. Upon returning home I waited a week and checked my card and not only did he not refund my money he never credited the discount they had promised to do. I eventually disputed the charge and was refunded the amount billed. Not only was the owner not a man of his word, the property needed much repair. The hot tub was only 80 degrees, we didn't have a plug for the tub, and when we returned from shopping we found our window open and unlocked. I would not recommend this...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about this lodge. My boyfriend and I stayed here over the winter in 2014 and it was a great stay. We had the kitchenette room and it came with a nice little goody bag and was a great rate for the night and we had a nice breakfast the next morning. But we stayed here again this past weekend and just stayed in the regular queen size room. We found out there was no alarm clock/clock, ironing board which kinda sucked because I needed to iron my button down shirt and jeans for dinner, no goody bag (toothpaste, lotion, gum, ect.), our curtains wouldn't open, no phone in the room, and there were strange rules put in place since our last stay. You had to find the guy at the front desk to come open the door to the hot tub and only after you fully showered first, there's a $10 charge for each towel in your room if any go missing, and the breakfast was a HUGE disappointment. When I see the words continental breakfast I'm thinking cereal, eggs, toast, some type of meat, waffles, oatmeal, juice, ect. But their breakfast they offered was only bagels and toast. Which was really disappointing and we learned they chip you on a breakfast during "off" season. It was kind of like that with everything. Because we weren't there during the winter season, we got a crappier room, crappier breakfast, and no phone/iron/clock. So our first stay was great but this past one was kind of lame and makes me wonder if we'll book with them again. Not to mention there's no where to get breakfast or lunch in Keystone so we ended up driving to Silverthorne and finding a great restaurant to have an actual breakfast meal at. Which I actually highly recommend the Mountain Lyon Cafe because their food was amazing and their prices were really reasonable and the staff is incredible nice. So if you're looking for breakfast/lunch while staying at Alpine Slopes visit Mountain Lyon, you won't be disappointed. I can't complain to much because we didn't pay very much for our stay but it could have been a little better I suppose. Added bonus- you can do a late check out until noon and after that it's $10 an hour up to 4pm so if you need extra time in your room you can pay a...
