BEWARE!!! Sleep in your car before you book a room. It started with there being 5 heavy duty fans in our hallway that were blowing around an insanely wet & musty smell. Bordering moldy. We got into our room & it looked like it had never seen a vacuum a day in its whole life since the beginning of its existence. The bathroom floor was so sticky. It reeked. The furniture had been pushed into the middle of the room. There was a broken CD on the floor?? We went down to the hot tub which was awesome that they had. The sauna didn’t work which hadn’t been mentioned. We weren’t in there for long but my skin was burning when we got out. It seemed almost like instead of cleaning the hot tub out, more & more chlorine was being poured in. But okay, whatever, it was cool to have a hot tub. OKAY SO THEN we went back to the room & went to get into bed. we pulled back the sheets & there was a bunch of long hair in the sheets & the comforter & pillows were CLEARLY dirty. Like super dirty. They smelled & had black smudges all over them. We went down to talk to the guy & he was very apologetic & said he wasn’t sure if he could get us another room bc they were booked solid, which we were fine with bc at that point I would've preferred a refund. and then he immediately said they had a room & it was clean bc he had checked it already himself somehow. We moved our stuff to the next room & it was still very dirty, but a small step up. It was very late, we were tired & just wanted to go to sleep so we got into bed. We mistakenly didn’t look around the room much. The next day we woke up & realized there was blood on the top sheet & bugs under the fitted sheet. Went to shower & there was hair in the shower still. There was no one at the front desk when we went down to talk to the front desk person about it. Just left.

I had the Bates hotel vibe in this place. TV didnt work but I didnt want to have the front desk guy come in my room to fix it. I was going to stay 3 nights(non refundable). I checked out the vey next morning. The door wouldn't lock but again didn't want him in my room to fix it. I put my suitcase infront of the door so If someone came in they would trip over it. I was alone. Creepy old men walking in and out of the place all hours of the night. When I would step out for a smoke I held a ball point pen in hand to protect my self if needed. A couple across the hall(the only other female i seen) were very upset at this place too. We all felt unsafe. I didnt shower nor brush my teeth because I was so disgusted in this place I didnt want to use the water. When I opened the door to my room, there was a half empty air freshener on the floor to make is smell better. It didnt work. Needless to say I didnt get any rest at all. I highly recommend staying away from this place. Im traumatized. I will post the photos of room 124 below. The shelf in the bathroom was hanging on barely by a loose screw. The curtains were so wrinkled. I had metal bunke beds with a lumpy mattress a ND pillows for only myself staying there. I've seen jail cells look better on TV than this place. The furniture looks like it was donated from a thrift store just all beat up tore up not matching it was just gross. Torn up lamp shade

I am only giving this one star because 0 was not an option. This was the worst night's stay that I have ever had. The mattress did not have a frame or box spring at all. It was just sitting on the floor and was still caved in in the middle. There was no fitted sheet, and the mattress was stained and disgusting. No one was at the front desk to address this in the morning and there was no coffee anywhere. There was no coffee pot in the room, or the lobby and not even coffee for sale in the vending machine. You would like if you were going to prevent me from sleeping for an entire night with this terrible bed you would at least make coffee available. I called several times to try to resolve this issue and most times no one answered the phone. Once I finally got through, I was told three times that the manager/owner would call me bac and he never did. I e-mailed with picture evidence and still no response.

DETAILED REVIEW FROM AN INTERNATIONAL SKIER

SUMMARY - Great location, good size rooms, but several things are not what you expect. The staff are very helpful when available. I feel obliged to prepare visitors what to expect, but you can definitely make your holiday work here. My advice is to consider 3Peaks a a bit like School Camp rather than the Hilton Hotel. You have to help yourself sometimes to sort things out.

THE GOOD -

  1. Rooms are large, warm, and reasonably quiet, despite being 50 yards from A6. You can still hear the people in the next room flush the toilet and talk on the phone, but less so than other hotels I've stayed in. Beds are comfortable and warm, except the pillows are very old.
  2. Great location! Keystone Peru Express lift is 400 yards away. Within 200 yards you will also find .... 2 x ski rental / service shops very good Mexican restaurant The Goat tavern (burgers and similar) Subway And other cafes, a steakhouse, and other eateries are within a few minutes walk. Free bus to A-Basin stops right out the front (10 min ride), as does the free bus to Breckenridge (25 min ride), and to Silverthorne (30 min ride).
  3. The in-room and common facilities all work, other than some issues mentioned below, including spa, sauna, laundry.
  4. Skis can be stored in your room (there is a little alcove) and they are happy for you to walk around in your ski boots.
  5. While many things were not quite as expected, if you call the reception number, Kamil or Shirley will do anything for you, and have lots of useful local information and advice.

THE NOT QUITE AS EXPECTED -

  1. The front desk is often unattended. You can phone the reception number and usually somebody answers, and usually they are very helpful. But it is incredibly frustrating that there are periods when you cannot get hold of anyone for an hour or so. I saw new guests trying to check in, and couldn't help them.
  2. Our room had a kitchenette, and it was very poorly supplied. It had a few mismatched forks and knives, only 2 spoons. No egg flip, no tongs, no can opener, no bottle opener, no cooking utensils. No dishwash detergent, no sponge or brush to wash up. Upon asking, I obtained some of these items. A single cooktop was provided which was inductive and worked well once we asked for help and learnt that it only works with the large pan (the other two were aluminium, and don't work with inductive!). No cooking exhaust fan, but the bathroom fan eventually cleared out cooking smoke from the room. Like I say, you can always find a way to get things done. No tea or coffee in the room, no salt and pepper, no cooking oil. But we did have the mother of all Microwave Ovens, large and powerful - no cover to stop splatters while using the Microwave. The mini-fridge works well, but has no freezer compartment (just walk outside if you need some ice ...).
  3. The beautiful entrance area with a big fireplace never had the fire going! I recommend to 3Peaks that they should start up the fire and encourage a bit of Apres Ski around 4pm each day. This would enable you to chat with other guests, share wine, nibbles, and ski stores. That is how us tourists learn about the local area.
  4. Tea and coffee are available at the front desk. But once during our stay, for 3 days, the coffee was not refilled. Just to be clear, there is no breakfast provided at 3Peaks, no dining room. But there are 2 very good cafes 4 minutes walk away.
  5. There is no common restroom, only the toilet in your room. So if you've just arrived after driving for hours, and cannot get hold of reception to check in .... tough luck, go find a tree.
  6. No detergent in the laundry, but we got 2 washes worth in a cup...

Booked a room in advance of a trip we planned in August 2021. Plans were to stay 4 nights and take day trips in the region to experience and view the sights. Upon making the reservation I spoke with a gentleman and made said reservations. I called him back a short time later to ask if they had any military discounts which he said he did and would make adjustments when I checked in. When we arrived it was a contactless check in. I called the number at the desk and the manager came down shortly to supposedly apply my discount back to my card. After we had already checked in he preceeded to tell me that they had no hot water but it would be fix before evening. We checked in at 3pm. After returning from shopping around 6 pm we still had no hot water. As I was standing in the lobby waiting on someone to talk to about the situation the boiler repairman walked by and I ask if the hot water was fixed. Assuming I worked there he told me that there was gonna be some major repairs needed and started showing me pictures of the boiler and it's problems. I told him I was a guest and was waiting on someone to fill me in on the situation. In the meantime another guest who had stayed there for several day came to the desk as well and started informing me about the owner and his empty promises he would make. This would explain why there was only about 7 rooms rented for that night. I called the number at the desk again and this time got to speak with the owner. He told me that the parts store was closed and he had 3 of the best boiler guys in Colorado working on it and would have the hot water fixed by 8 the next morning. He began to offer free nights for my next visit for the inconvenience. I told him I would prefer to find different lodging and asked for a refund. He said he would do that. Upon returning home I waited a week and checked my card and not only did he not refund my money he never credited the discount they had promised to do. I eventually disputed the charge and was refunded the amount billed. Not only was the owner not a man of his word, the property needed much repair. The hot tub was only 80 degrees, we didn't have a plug for the tub, and when we returned from shopping we found our window open and unlocked. I would not recommend this...

I have mixed feelings about this lodge. My boyfriend and I stayed here over the winter in 2014 and it was a great stay. We had the kitchenette room and it came with a nice little goody bag and was a great rate for the night and we had a nice breakfast the next morning. But we stayed here again this past weekend and just stayed in the regular queen size room. We found out there was no alarm clock/clock, ironing board which kinda sucked because I needed to iron my button down shirt and jeans for dinner, no goody bag (toothpaste, lotion, gum, ect.), our curtains wouldn't open, no phone in the room, and there were strange rules put in place since our last stay. You had to find the guy at the front desk to come open the door to the hot tub and only after you fully showered first, there's a $10 charge for each towel in your room if any go missing, and the breakfast was a HUGE disappointment. When I see the words continental breakfast I'm thinking cereal, eggs, toast, some type of meat, waffles, oatmeal, juice, ect. But their breakfast they offered was only bagels and toast. Which was really disappointing and we learned they chip you on a breakfast during "off" season. It was kind of like that with everything. Because we weren't there during the winter season, we got a crappier room, crappier breakfast, and no phone/iron/clock. So our first stay was great but this past one was kind of lame and makes me wonder if we'll book with them again. Not to mention there's no where to get breakfast or lunch in Keystone so we ended up driving to Silverthorne and finding a great restaurant to have an actual breakfast meal at. Which I actually highly recommend the Mountain Lyon Cafe because their food was amazing and their prices were really reasonable and the staff is incredible nice. So if you're looking for breakfast/lunch while staying at Alpine Slopes visit Mountain Lyon, you won't be disappointed. I can't complain to much because we didn't pay very much for our stay but it could have been a little better I suppose. Added bonus- you can do a late check out until noon and after that it's $10 an hour up to 4pm so if you need extra time in your room you can pay a...
