â¤ď¸Love the food, drink, people, and activities here! Levi in particular, with his deep well of a singin' spirit and warm heart (he's a karaoke-hosting brewer), makes the place feel like home. But every other person we've dealt with--including breakfast folks making food and coffee, evening folks serving beer at the bar (the barkeep is extremely nice and attentive...I just didn't catch his name), and brewers who like to chat with customers--has been a standout.
The breakfast sandwich (sausage, egg, and cheese on English muffin) was delicious. The scones are perfect. The bagel with herbed cream cheese outstanding. The coffee--no joke, folks--is the best coffee I have EVER HAD ANYWHERE in terms of flavor and depth (they roast their own: their cappuccinos to die for; they have decaf at the highway location). For beer, I fancy the shandy, and it is excellent! My partner, a beer lover, has had several flights of their many, many other options, and he loved them all. They are, by the way, creative with their options, and you can tell they love what they do with the brew. I also ordered a limited-time Orange-Julius-styled mixed drink which I slurped down thirstily, given how delish it was! The pizza is tasty. It's not gourmet crust (I don't think), but it's really tasty for munching on with your beer. The German pretzel is a convincing facsimile of its Bavarian inspiration (except German pretzels maybe don't have quite so much salt...the salt is easy to flick off). (The cinnamon roll was devoured by my father, and the breakfast burrito was amorously inhaled by my husband).
Steep is one of the reasons why I want to return to Keystone. I mean, Keystone is amazing in its own right. It just has a chill vibe (Breck too crowded, Winter Park too jaded, and everyone else too far) and is so dang close to the critters (e.g., bears, moose, water fowl), and it's right on the bike patch. It also has its own second route back to Denver via the Loveland Pass. I would add Steep to the TOP of the list of reasons why...
Read moreOkay, sorry no posts on some time. Traveling died down since COVID-19. Steep Brewing Company... Don't go for the food, it wasn't even bar food, well what they had left was a reduced menu for an already low choice menu... And over priced for the food, $14.50 for a frozen pizza (I say frozen, they replied with fresh).
The beer though wasn't that bad. They have a large amount of choices. A lot of fruit infused and coffee infused. Not good for me. The pilsner was weak in flavor, which could be somewhat expected. The IPA had good flavor though. The beers were a bit pricey also, Pint was $7. For Keystone, it's expected The good tasting IPA will not be the saving grace for me to return to this establishment.
Forgot to write about the staff (edit). Staff was friendly, made me feel welcome. The atmosphere was a normal ski town small bar. Most don't know but I was a bartender in Summit County many years ago. On the original review I only gave 2 stars, but have to give the staff a star. The fourth star came to because of the fast reply of the original post. The staff, management, or the owner replied within minutes of the post going up. This place cares about taking care of the patrons and wanting them to come back (even with a bad review).
So, finally. Check out Steep for the beer, a lot of craft choices. I came in the "off season." Did not like the food, but the staff will take care of you and the atmosphere is a small ski resort atmosphere with a hand full of locals...

Best "Americano", I've ever had, hands down. Really dark roast and strong....mmmm, my cup of coffee indeed!
It's NOT ONLY a place for coffee but, it sure turns warm and alive (not rowdy) in the evenings.
Though they do not offer regular dinner food, they do have great pizzas (Nick and Willy's pizza), which, I definitely recommend! Had the cheese pizza and it is đ¤¤đ. Also have to recommend their Chicken Skewers!!!!
If you plan on having dinner food from them, I suggest you get there before 7 or better yet, order and pay ahead of time as they do run out of the pizzas quick. Guessing, the crowd after sundown is a sure way of rating how much one enjoys Steep.
And the best(!) for me was the staff!!!! My(!), I have never felt more welcome. After our second, visit, I felt I was a regular and a local from how the staff (specially the male staff, with longish hair and wore a cup always.....sorry, missed out on getting your name) warmly welcomed me as soon as they noticed. Even got the pleasure of being introduced to the family member of Nick and Willy's pizza owner.
Love that they sell stickers of Steep as it sure makes it a memorable keepsake.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND Steep!!!!
