Worst experience renting our snowboarding gear from this company. The staff was unfriendly and very rude the entire time. We walked in and could not differentiate between customer and staff, was not greeted or directed. When I finally identified a man who was working there and asked him if he could help us he brushed us aside and said he was busy. We almost turned around and walked out when he changed his mind and took out paperwork telling us to fill it out while he left around the corner again. When we filled out the paperwork he came back and told us we "did it wrong." When we finally made it to the end of the fitting process he told us to "go check out in there" with a point of the finger and disappeared behind a bunch of skis "Over there" turned out to be in a different store through a hallway. When we found this out (asked another very unfriendly man) we went into the store and no one was there. When we called out the guy who answered from a back room sharply said "Ya hold on" Then appeared a minute later and I kid you not said "What do you want" I responded "to pay" This experience was horrible, I am in customer service myself and I understand having a bad day but the way we were treated here was beyond ridiculous! When we returned we had the same problem. Rude and Awful go somewhere else,...
Read moreIf you have a family, I would highly recommend using one of the other multiple shops in the area to rent skis. Me, my wife, and 3 year old son rented skis here this week. We got on the mountain day one and my son’s ski boots were too small and would not go on his feet at all. He was unable to ski that day, so I brought them back on day one and exchanged them for a larger size and he then skied the last two days. I told Josh the scenario and asked if I could get a refund for the day and he immediately started arguing with me asking if my son didn’t try the boots on in the shop, etc. I told him that he did try them on and my wife specifically said he will be wearing different socks (Smart Wool) and they said he’d be fine. He continues to act totally put out and annoyed with me, and tries to spilt the difference? To be clear, we are talking $18 here, when we have literally spent thousands of dollars over the years renting from this shop. He eventually gives me back the $18 for the skis, but not the helmet cost. He takes my credit card and throws it back to me and won’t say a word to me. Maybe Josh was having a bad day, but this was insane. It’s not worth getting treated poorly for no reason at all; rent elsewhere, there’s plenty of...
Read moreVery helpful staff and good selection of bikes. I like to road bike and Mountain View Sports is one of the few (the only??) bike rental outfit that rents road bikes I didn't do an exhaustive search, but it seems that most bike rentals around here rent either "path bikes" or Mountain Bikes. And path bikes are heavy and don't have enough gears for someone used to road biking. I spent time in Breckenridge, Keystone, and a little in Frisco. In my limited experience, Keystone is hands down the place for biking (though I don't know anything about Mountain Biking). The extensive network of bike paths (RecPaths) are most concentrated in and round Keystone than other towns. Also, more options for road biking compared to Breckenridge. The epic climb from Keystone to the Continental Divide at Loveland Pass is unforgettable. (For relatively strong riders: 2500 ft. elevation gain in 8 miles, said to be one of the best road bike rides...
