Was shocked at how rude and inappropriate some of the staff were here. I paid for and made a reservation online. My reservation was made for pickup on the morning of Saturday, Jan 30. We arrived in Keystone earlier (Friday, Jan 29) than expected so thought I'd pop in and see if I could pick up my gear. After entering the store I had to wait while one of the employees loudly was chatting with his fellow team members about how fans of a certain football team were * **. Use your imagination on his choice of words. After a few minutes of standing there taking in this ridiculous conversation, I was finally noticed and asked what I needed. Told them I made a reservation for pick up the next day but wanted to see if I could get my gear tonight. Before I could even finish my sentence the staff member that was using the very inappropriate conversation lays into me about why I was picking up my gear early and that I needed to plan better. First of all, I went into the store with no expectation that they'd allow me to get my gear early. But I was early and thought it was worth asking. Secondly, I was willing to pay for the early pick up if needed as well. After my lecture from this less than stellar associate, I was told they'd help me. Luckily another staff member assisted me but the loud Christy Sports employee who clearly hates his customers wasn't done with me. He continued to yell across the store that I needed to plan better. I didn't even know what to say. I was so taken back that a staff member was being so ridiculous. Let's just say had I not already paid for my gear, I would've walked out. But I'll never have to worry about that again as my purchases and rentals in Colorado will be made at other establishments in the future. Not at Christy's Sports where the customer is not valued or shown...
Read moreSummary Stayed at River Run from 2.18-2.23 with my 3 kids. Rented snowboard boots for my oldest, and alpine skis/boots when my telemark set-up started to act up. Could not have been more pleased. The crew at Christy was extremely friendly and helpful each time we visited. I also observed many interactions with other customers and could tell my experience was not unique.
Details My 17yo was having foot pain (high arches) when boarding so I suggested he go to Christy and ask what it might be. Freddie measured his feet and determined his boots were not a good fit so we rented. After a couple of runs in some boots a bit bigger than what Freedie recommended, the foot pain persisted. My kid returned to Christy, discussed the issue with Freddie who suggested inserts to help support his high arches. The pain persisted so we returned and Freddie offerred 1 size smaller, that helped.
Separately, my tele boots started releasing from my NTN bindings mid-turn, which is not a good thing. I took them to Christy and, understandably due to liability, they could not insspect/service the skis but suggested another shop in Breckenridge that could. I opted to rent an Alpine set up from Christy for the remainder of the trip. Once again, Freddie was the one to assist, sharing technical specs to help me identify the best skis to match what I was looking for. Couldn't have been more pleased with my choice.
Everyone we interacted with was great but we spent the most time with Freddie, who was tremendous. Was very impressed. Super convenient location, professional/friendly service, and fair prices. Christy won us...
Read moreThe worst customer service I have ever experienced. Will not be back.
Jeff spoke in the most sarcastic tone possible and I asked if he's in a bad mood and he said I don't like repeating myself. I said well you're working in a rental service, which likely means people who are renting do not know what they are doing in regards to fit etc. so repeating is likely to occur. He repeated he gets annoyed with repeating himself. And then brought me the same size 3x after I said it was too loose. Proper fitting boots was of no concern for either of us. And appears it is so in the reviews below. Doesn't learn.
Asked girlfriend how many socks are you wearing she said "2", he said please read the sign and pointer above his head as if she was an idiot. He looked at he again repeated "how many socks are you wearing" she answered and said 2, and then he repeated again. Happened 3-4x of the same repeated how many.. 2...
Same experience with my girlfriend right after. Board has dried mud and coarse like sand paper. Asked to wax, walked out; no wax. Came back and asked for wax. They asked if they wanted both feet faced forward she said no and then the staff proceeded to laugh historically about how bad it was and said "look at that back binding!!" Meanwhile if as her first time snowboarding she could've very well gotten injured. Was set up at 12/30 ++. Safety is obviously of no concern. Not surprising with the boot fit experience maybe after a lawsuit...
